Well, there are two definitions of happiness to me.

#1 "Surface-happiness"
I have this kind of temporary happiness a lot.
For example, today. I got two beautiful "Legend of Korra" artbooks, which made me happy. Otherwise I have this feeling when I watch a good video, play an exciting game or eat delicious food. But this kind of happiness doesn't last long.

#2 "deep-down-inside-happiness"
This kind of happiness is what I consider "real happiness". It's created by being with good friends, while experiencing love and being with family. And I haven't felt that for a long time.

Me right here lol

I've read that happiness comes from the thoughts we chose to have, so I guess that means I've chosen to be miserable.

LOL You're disproving your first sentence by yourself, since nobody would choose to be miserable.. I think

It really depends on the mindset I have.

If it depends on your temporary state of mind, then it's not happiness. I would better call it cheerfulness

To me happiness is the great memories you've created in the past and the probability to make more great memories in the future.

Interesting point of view. I'll take note

I'm happy when I can do stuff that I like and enjoy doing, or whenever I can be of use to others, or just in general be productive. So, to me happiness is strongly connected to activity. (Which is close to Aristotle's definition: happiness= virtuous activity through one's whole life). It's another question I get easily frustrated when some people don't let me be doing my everyday stuff ._.

I studied Aristotle at school three years ago. Anyway I'm a lot like you, I think your words describe what I think very well :)

Then, refer only to the one you consider "real happiness".
In my opinion, this has a sort of parallelism with the opposite definitions of "art" of Deidara and Sasori. As for Sasori's art, to me real happiness is something that lasts through time. This is the cause it's so difficult to reach

It is near Ohio, if I remember correctly

Seriously, you sure that you aren't confusing it with cheerfulness?

Okay.

Happiness is an impossible condition for any human being in this Earth.
Impossible? No.
Difficult to reach? Yes.

Could you define yourselves happy?
No.

Do you have a sort of plan to reach happiness?
"Plan". I don't think that you really can "plan" something like this.
But I hope that I'll be able to find my soulmate, start a family, give an adopted child a good life and find a job that really satisfies me.

MUH INTERNAL HAPPINESS THAT AWAKENS INSIDE ME AT RANDOM xDDDD

do you ask "are you sad?" do you not view this as a mental state? being happy all the time is an extreme. there is absolutely no such thing. you are going to have shitty states and incredible states and states inbetween that aren't as memorable due to environmental factors and various other causes. you are going to have down days and up days, minutes, and hours. it's ever changing. just like the neurons in your brain. there is not one constant state. you have many.
happiness, like sadness, like anger, like jubilation, and so on--are all experiences, states, whatever. they are not impossible to achieve.

would you say sadness is an impossible condition to achieve for any human being on this earth? realize how utterly ludicrous this sounds, yes?

so i suppose you should really be asking if we're content and admit you are, in fact, using 'happiness' incorrectly

I'm happy so long as I know I'm not being a burden, or suffocating myself in indulgence to the
point my stomach hurts or getting that feeling that's as if I've loss reality.

I am content. I feel good about things. I feel open. So, yes, I think I am happy.
