Why does people prefer Hinata over Neji??

This is my first thread and I'm going straight to the point.

Just curious because I find Hinata to be ok character overall although I find her to be bland and uninteresting character mainly because she hide under the bush the majority of the time and doesn't get much development in Naruto.

Moreover the way Kishi portray Hinata as a weak and helpless shinobi are just too dreadful to watch even with the Last movie, she didn't get any stronger instead she needed to get saved which even currently in Boruto, she's a housewife instead of a heiress

Neji is such a likable character because he is such a badass prodigy in Part 1 and his backstory with how the Main family used him as a slave which is completely understandable for him to be complete d!ck on Hinata.

Neji has such indepth philosophy even in Shippuden despite being offscreen for the majority of time, he is still a great character that could potentially be the best character but sadly he died off over a stupid plot device pairing just to make Hinata relevant and I find this disturbing....


So why do you guys like Hinata so much??

Neji had more of a struggle and conflict that made him really interesting, while Hinata got side lined with her struggles. I mean she wasn't terrible, but she's a female so her character development was meh.

Neji was awesome. It amazing how people can't truly grasp the depth and importance of events such as neji's death. People only see "Neji died for NaruHina", oh well.

People prefer Hinata because she is the next in line as the Hyuuga Heir and her strong relationship to Naruto.

But besides that, I think this is a lot to do with the Hyuuga affair of the Main and Branch Houses. They felt Hinata was too weak to rule; Neji wasn't from the Main House to take the lead; and Hanabi was too young, so there was a huge problem there. I guess to fit the concept of peace and allow the main character to develop, Kishi has to kill off Neji.

Fact Hinata was created by Kishi right after Him because Kishi created Naruto and Hinata for each other and the story is about two so called losers becoming the champions of their village and the World over the Village chosen couple who were created last Sasuke and Sakura. Hard work defeats genius is Kishi mantra in the Manga.

Will never understand why Kishi thought it was necessary to kill off Neji for such an underdeveloped ship.

What's worse is that the death itself barely made an impact on Naruto and Hinata's relationship...seeing as how they didn't grow any closer until "The Last".

Kishi killing off the best Hyuga has tarnished the Hyuga clan imo.

Serious answer: The development of Hinata through the story is likeable, coz even having a different personality from Naruto, they both had success in their life without losing their kind heart
