Hey members of NB, moderators and Admins

My friend Yowyan got banned out of nowhere (for all I know) and it seems he was permanently banned. It is sad to see this stuff happen. Maybe the bansystem should be less strict cause if you ban people like this there won't be many left. I'm sure everyone noticed that since chapter 700 this site died a bit. When gaiden came out it got resurrected again but died again. I haven't been here this long but don't you guys agree? If you ban someone for something small they will start to dislike or even hate this place.

I don't think we can even afford losing active members at this moment....

Maybe changing strategy?

I just feel that the atmosphere has changed alot and keeps changing more and more.

The moderation system NB has is perfectly fine. If members followed the . They wouldn't receive infractions that will only follow up to getting banned.

Why dose NB have to change for the people who break the rules? The admins came up with a set of rules so they could be followed (these rules are here for a reason). And following them is not hard at all, it truly isn't. Not to mention you agreed to the terms of NB before you registered.

I agree and disagree, ive been banned and I deserved it. talk about anime and you'll be fine. now I do think they take down threads that shouldn't for the sake of mingling with other members. I think they should change it to mangabase and work on getting it higher on the list when you google search anime forums. idk though I guess its up to the creators to decide in which direction to take the site

Often times people just assume someone is banned for no reason, and as you said you don't know why he was banned. The thing is there is awlays a valid reason, whether the members want to accept it or not (they don't most of the time).

But there is still something odd to me.
Members like YowYan get banned, while other members (I won't call them by name).. who clearly show radical and extremistical mindsets in their posts and are agreeing with killing innocent people.. do not get banned. Why is that so?

I guess people didn't report their post or the mods did let it slide.

yeah i agree naruto barely makes top ten in best animes
When I was a kid, I thought naruto was definitely top 5... now? not even close to top 20.

One of the problems here is you refusing to name them. See I personally don't visit 90% of the sections unless there is a report, so I wouldn't know what is happening there without one (that doesn't apply to all mods). Reports are there to make the user experience better. If you don't do that it means you are fine with the rule breaking and/or the negativity such posts bring.

The way NB is moderated is fine. Especially taking to account the amount of trolls and rule breakers that come on here to simply disrespect the community and disregard all common sense and ignore the rules. However, like all system and like all administrative roles, errors can occur and, of course things can be mistaken. Most of the times, the latter isn't the case. The NB staff strive and do their best to uphold the rules of NarutoBase and of course help our community in anyway we can. The problem about this is that, even though we try explaining things to members, they go off and do exactly what they were told not to do. Is it unfair to infract a member who, even after being "warned" or better said, advised against 'X' or 'Y' action and they go ahead and do it anyways? No, of course not. It's completely fair and necessary to do so.

But anyways, I'm not here to write a wallie. The answer to this is simple. Follow the rules and be respectful and no trouble will come. Don't follow the rules and be disrespectful, then it's obvious you will have to hear from us.
