Preference.

Same reason console users say consoles > PC. Everyone likes to fanboy something.

Also probably should be in Gaming Hall.

This!
I prefer PC to any console majorly cos of keyboard, but in an argument I'll bring up things like framerate, mods....... That's how it is

Hey, I like PS4 over Xbox One, but the fact that the Xbox One has backwards compatibility which is a basic feature the all powerful PS4 doesn't have makes me laugh every time like who making these dumb decisions up there over at Sony.

The PS4 not having backwards compatibility is due to architecture differences between it and it's PS3 predecessor. I doubt they just decided to omit the feature at launch, it's more likely that they simply weren't compatible. The same was partially true for the Xbox One so they had to develop an internal emulator to overcome the issue. If Sony wants to introduce backwards capability they will need to invest a lot of resources to do so.

Given how successful the PS4 was proving, Microsoft possibly thought that the emulator was worth developing to balance the field. Unless Sony really feels threatened in the market they may not make backwards compatibility a priority.

PC > PS4 > Wii > Xbox One.

I prefer PC due to CSGO and mods.

Too late for that, they selling PS2 games on PSN for $15 each and still, not being able to play my PS3 games in my PS4 is laughable. The Wii was backwards compatible, the Wii U was backwards compatible. Sony has no excuse for leaving out such a big feature at launch, but they could change that with a newer model of the PS4 which they will definitely do.

I don't have any of the next gen consoles yet, but I've had my fair share of consoles up through the years (Xbox360, PS3 and Wii amongst them), and each console has its own ups and downs. For instance, I use my PS3 for watching Blue Rays and DVDs only these days. Heck, I only ever acquired 2 games for it since I bought it way late (early 2013). The Wii I have for Offline multiplayer games which in my opinion, beats any of the other consoles in that compartment (Mario Kart, Smash Bros, etc). And no, I'm not talking 2 player Coop, I'm talking 4 players on 1 screen. Plus I have to have Zelda, easy as that.

For online multiplayer and competitive gaming, Xbox360 was always my best bet. Dunno how many hours I played Halo 3 back in the days for instance, neither Left4Dead 1 and 2. So yeah, ended up buying all 3 of them (Got Wii and 360 in 2007 I believe, 5 years before I bothered getting PS3). Also had Xbox, Nintendo GC and PS2 (temporarily), but since xbox, I've been more of a Xbox/Nintendo gamer, while I was a Nintendo/Playstation (with N64 and PS1) gamer before that.

Point of all this is to sum up towards the next gen, which I intend on getting this year. All I know is that I ain't going to buy all 3 again, and I have to have Wii U if only for the new Zelda game. But I need either XboxOne or PS4 for obvious reasons (more games I enjoy playing, better online, etc). So which one will I get? It all boils down to controller for me... For someone who had PS1, 2 and 3, I never particularly liked the PS controller. In fact, I liked it the least amongst all consoles I've had from all 3 of the publishers (Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft).

What don't I like about it? Is it too small? No... Not really. What I don't like is the position of the analog stick. For me, that ruins competitive gaming like Fifa and such. I can still play Fifa with my friends on the PS4 (with which controller has improved a bit but not quite), but I'm ten times better on the Xbox. I just can't get the same things done on the PS Controller so to speak. The thumb tires out and it slips off the analog stick all the time which is a bother. The only game I can think of that feels the other way around is Tekken. I bought Tekken 6 for xbox360 and I didn't like the control schematics much due to being used with the PS controller with those games. But that is the only exception for me at least.

So yeah, for me, it comes down to controller basically. Plus the fact that I can't own all 3 consoles for the 3rd time in a row anymore, it's not really worth it. Plus the obvious fact that I ain't going to abandon my Gamerscore which is that. Trophies I never really cared for even though I collected some. And to top it, XboxOne also have Blue Ray now which renders a 3rd console pointless. Sure I will have to let go of some beloved series, but I guess that's just how it has to be.

With all that said, I will be getting Xbox One and Wii U and skip the PS 4 (the first PS console I'll skip in fact). For me personally, PS's been all about being a Brand rather than a gaming company since PS2. From my experience, people buy PS because they know of it and its exclusives, much like people buy Nintendo because of Zelda and Mario. Xbox has been getting there too slowly, but it ain't going to catch up with Sony and Nintendo over in Asia, that is for sure.

Xbox one has many times better framterate. also better exclusives which aren't cheap remakes. The ps4 controller is literally a 2 sided dildo. Interface is shit. I honestly felt like I was using a 3rd world console to play the Japanese demo on ps4. Also Xbox one has more hardcore players clans rather play on Xbox one than ps4. Which is true check YouTube and gamebattles.com .

The only reason ps4 is like this is because Microsoft ****ed up and ps4 got the gamers that couldn't care less about the console but just wanted the cheaper thing. I choose my Xbox + pc any day over ps4. I would even sell it instead of playing. My brother is disappointed with his ps4 and only plays rocket league.

to be fair those ps2 games are enhanced(1080p and trophy support), X1/Wii U do not do as good as a job as enhancing the old games and go for replicating the experience. But imo they should bring down the prices, and it would be awesome if Sony made some kind of PS2 emulator(like PCSX2) that works with PS4 so people can play all their games.
OP: Because people have... gonna blow your goddamn mind with this... wait for it... DIFFERENT PREFERENCES THAN YOU!!! HOLY SHIT CRAZY RIGHT. Both consoles have their strengths and weaknesses and it boils down to what you like. Selling more doesn't make one thing better than another nor does graphics. The OG Xbox was MUCH more powerful than the PS2, but I think the PS2 was better, OG Xbox had some good stuff too.

It's not that simple. The PS3 and PS4 have completely different architectures. It's not just more power, it's fundamentally different. Sony didn't choose to set backwardsCompatible = false; at launch. They need to emulate the functionality of the old PS3 hardware on a different system. The Xbox One did just that to allow the old Xbox 360 games to be played but I imagine Sony would have a much harder job doing so as there wasn't such a large difference between the One and 360.

Dude. Have you seen the collection of xbox 360 games that you can play on the Xbox one? Nobody don't want to play that. People be making a big deal about backwards compatible, but don't really want to play those old games.

Maybe beacuse of the exclusives?

Objectively speaking, PS4 is a stronger console.
