The real question here is how the hell were you 14 in elementary school?

Coz here elementary school takes 8 yrs, starting at the age of 6. The real question here is why you think your country is the centre of the world.

Two died in a span of a week, one of them was murdered.

Also another one has been missing for nearly five years and is presumed dead.

No, no one that I know of, at least.
But I took word just recently that one of my teachers in the primary school had died of cancer. It was really heartbreaking news for me.

That is sad.

A few years ago (6 or so, maybe more. Been awhile now that I think about it),one of my teachers died. He was one of my favorites. His son two grades ahead of me, so that must have been hard for him.

Yeah, this girl in my class when I was 13. Didn't really know her too well but I had a small crush on her at the time.

Our whole class was depressed for a while.

I didn't know this kid personally but I learned he was in Orchestra like me. He and his sister got robbed and shot early morning,

Happened almost 5 years ago. My friends that knew him were sad...

Not really, but while I was in the University we hear things like this 2-3 times per year, I did not usually feel sad but kinda sorry for the family of the deceased,
about how it's like a wasted investment (especially those in their finals)
I'm putting this spoiler tags cos it sounds insensitive even tho the insensitivity is unintended
I really don't think parents would care about the money if their kid died...

Also, from my understanding, Parents send their kids to University because they believe it's what would help the kid the most in the future.

There were a few cases in my life.

First, there was a guy which was in the same class as me on the elementary school and in the same soccer-club (or football, whatever you call it). He died in a car crash a couple of years ago. He was on one of the back-seats.
I can't say that I was really sad because I don't remember much contact, but I felt sorry for him, his family and friends (of which one was the driver who survived).

The next case was a guy that was in a parallel-class of secondary school for a few years. He bullied me a few times and I really hated him. He also was drug-addicted and had some trouble with the police. In the end, he committed suicide.
I had mixed feelings about that. But now, a couple of years after that, I just feel sorry that he couldn't handle his life.

The last, but most emotional case is about a teacher from vocational college (don't know if this is the correct translation).
He was our german-teacher. Nearly all of his students liked him a lot, he was very cool, chill and friendly. He was the prime example of a good teacher.
But he was a smoker and had serious heart problems. A few months after I started vocational college, he had a heart-attack and had to recover for about a year, until he came back. But that didn't last long. He got another heart-attack soon after he came back to work and didn't survive this time. We all were very shocked and felt really sad.
Life is just unfair.

EDIT:
I just remembered another person.
She was also in my parallel-class of secondary school. I didn't really know her, but she was very kind, that's something I do know. She died of cancer as a teen. There was a memorial day in school for her.

Have any of your classmates died either while you were still attending school or after you graduated?

I found out yesterday that someone I attended school with passed away in Iraq and I didn't really know how to feel. I wouldn't say I was sad, I was more astounded at the fact that he was actually dead. We weren't very close either, just acquaintances who had conversations every now and then. He was a good guy.

Anyway, have any of you experienced this or something similar?

Well it hasn't really happened to me but I'm sorry for you :(
Feel better okay? :happy: :bouncy::hugg::pwease:

A few, some of which I was really close to. One died in front of me on a highway as we were on our way to a high school football game. Others not as traumatic, just a phone call from the parents or someone closer than I telling me so and so passed away and when their funeral is. Not a fun thing to have to do.

Coz here elementary school takes 8 yrs, starting at the age of 6. The real question here is why you think your country is the centre of the world.

This site is hosted in America therefore most of it's visitors are likely American.

Although it does get visitors from every corner of the world, I'm not technically wrong in the assumption such as the one I made.

This site says that NB is hosted in the Netherlands:

Which wouldn't be a surprise, considering that NB was founded by a Dutch.

According to this site, only 34% of NB's visitors are American.

If Lawliet's profilepicture is about the visitors of NB, then that also reinforces the notion that 2/3 of NB visitors are not American, therefore I'm more likely not to be an American either.

In any case it's a moot point, and a better question is why they don't teach you there to comprehend the phrase 'off topic'.

There was a time I got a message that a friend died by another friend. I sobbed that night and went to the funeral next day, only to turn the corner in a hall and almost bumping into that same person who was walking out. It was actually his brother that died and the friend that sent me the message said "brother" in the message that I misinterpreted as him saying "bro" so I thought he referred to me. Anyway one of the biggest shocks of my life at that moment. It was a real wtf moment but it was still sad at the funeral.
