Have any of your classmates died either while you were still attending school or after you graduated?

I found out yesterday that someone I attended school with passed away in Iraq and I didn't really know how to feel. I wouldn't say I was sad, I was more astounded at the fact that he was actually dead. We weren't very close either, just acquaintances who had conversations every now and then. He was a good guy.

Anyway, have any of you experienced this or something similar?

5 classmates from elementary school. 3 of them best friends - brothers I grew up with.

Not really, but while I was in the University we hear things like this 2-3 times per year, I did not usually feel sad but kinda sorry for the family of the deceased,
about how it's like a wasted investment (especially those in their finals)
I'm putting this spoiler tags cos it sounds insensitive even tho the insensitivity is unintended

Yeah when I was 14, in the last year of elementary school. The guy was my friend.

This girl from my elementary school had a couple of epilepsy attacks in our class. She passed away not long after I went to high school.

Not as far as I can remember. I've had a teacher die, but good riddance in his case.

No. One person in my high school died when I was in high school, but I didn't know him. He wasn't in any of my classes. I think he was in my grade, but not sure. Someone also died when I was in middle school. He was in high school, so again I didn't know him.

That's rough. I'm sorry for your losses man. :shy:
I overcame it. :)
With time, lots of time. And am grateful every day cuz I've been given a second chance, cuz I've been inches away from being the 4th one.

Yeah, he and I joined the school at the same day, I was only good friends with him for like a week and then I simply didn't see him due having different classes schedules. Being the lazy bum I'm I didn't do what your everyday friend does which was to check up on him from time to time.

Anyway, long story short, he was stabbed to death by one of his relatives. Can't say I was sad but I was just kinda amazed how someone you saw the same day was announced dead.

Wow. Do you know why the relative stabbed him to death?

It was unclear, even to thw police. They just sent him to jail and gave him some medication for mental illness since he admitted . Witnesses however stated that the two were arguing all day "aggressively". The police report itself said that he asked the victim to go with him to the store and then few minutes later the killer came back to his apartment and told his mother that he was going to jail cause he killed the dude.

Pretty BS story if you ask me, perhaps the family wanted to hide something from the public, oh well just my two cents

Only one. He took poison and killed himself.
It feels so strange so many of my class mates I have had not died. :| With all the statistics of one in x I hear, with all the dangers out there how come they live so safe life, many of them were massive plebs.
