The worst thing is that our family, friends and partners in love would die away without us.
Sure, some people in this position would find new friends and new love and everything.. but the feel of loss, sadness and loneliness will return over and over and over again.

Nope, thanks. Immortality is one of the worst punishments I can think of.

I would go into a black hole and figure out what its like if I was immortal so it would be fun forever.

Your body would be crushed into oblivion. Unless you're also invincible, then yeah, maybe you'd survive.

Immortality will be a gift. You can rely on technology for degrading body and mind. Our mortality limits us. I could have done so many things but I age and according to age I have to do things and then I die. Have you ever thought if you had infinite amount of time you would keep on doing something until you finish the last. If you find that your friends are dying you can find a way to save them, you have all the time. You may try to find a cure to cancer or you find something curious you can study about it know everything about it or may be you just keep on watching anime and movie or build an empire or just you just go and **** teenagers like that vampire. This universe is vast and beyond our measure, an immortal life would suite right.

Bullshit, that's the excuse overbearing parents use in an attempt to try to live through their kids because they couldn't do something themselves. Your children have their own lives separate from you, they are not you. Their choices in life will be different from yours and you need to accept that fact or you shouldn't have kids at all.

Whoa, calm down! I didn't say anything about them having to do everything I wanted to do and didn't and making them into a 2.0 version of myself. What I meant was children are our legacy, they're truly a piece of us walking around living while we'll be dead. Nothing about forcing them into being what they don't want to be.

Sure, I was just bringing up that point because that's usually how parents rationalize controlling their kids.
