But then again, I feel like Neji, Minato and other such OP speedsters abused in previous games were never really properly 'nerfed', yet they have fallen off of the top tier list somewhat. I wonder if it's just that they got outclassed by newcomers or the battle system subtly changed.

I honestly wonder why Minato gets new buffs in every single edition when he's the most overused & misused character since Storm 2 days.

he has 4 awakening actions all limbo with guard break, u can literally jump around while spamming them eating up ur opponents health, his combo is literally more than half a bar.

As long as you don't abuse his unintentional power and use that amazing Awakening of his (powerful, but takes skill) i'd happily fight you.

Sadly too many people make a bad name for him. He's the worst to face after Minato.

Lol I only posted that to get a grasp on how the Naruto gaming community is. Was hoping for that reaction. Nawh. There are loooads of characters so I mix it up with my favs nearly every game. Any time I've played it's just been a mate beside me so it's not like online FPS with people shouting down mics at you.

Are people just basing their answers here on personalities/expected abilities/gameplay trailers/past games or what?

In the past I've rolled mainly with everyone except some kids, jins below 8 tails, base Naruto & Sasuke. Sakura & Tsunade might be used for comic affect with a few others.
