If what Indra said is correct then yes, it still is canon. Kishi would be supervising the script and giving tips to Kodachi. Simple as that.

Now, let me address something a lot of idiots will try to harp on. Just because Kishi is as far as we know giving tips, doesn't mean he won't stop Kodachi if he's doing something wrong. He's supervising the script. That means, he knows where it's going, what's going to happen and how it's going to happen and who does or can do what.

Don't delude yourself into thinking that Kishi wont do anything except give tips. It's his story they are trying to build off on, connecting directly to the canon material he wrote. If you were in the same position and the one writing the story does something you don't like or doesn't fit with your initial vision for the verse, YOU WILL STOP THEM AND CORRECT IT.

Example: If Kodachi wanted to Kill off Himawari or something along those lines. Kishi is the supervisor, if he doesn't want that, do you think he won't say anything? You think Kodachi won't listen?

Come on guys, let's not be stupid and actually use our brains for once. The damn thing is canon.

Actually, he doesn't have to write it for it to be canon if he acknowledges it as such. He's the author of the original series. If he's know the script and is giving tips that means yes, he acknowledges it as such enough to allow Jump to make him a supervisor and personally draw a one shot that likely connect the 2. Just like with the Last, his main role was that of a supervisor in which he gave tips and oh look....it's canon even though he himself didn't write it.

This is an accepted and approved continuation of the original story, it's canon. Naruto is now the same as American Comics where new authors can be brought in by the company/owner of the rights to Naruto and make new works.

'Canon' is a subjective, fan-made concept. Ultimately it depends on the reader. The only thing I consider truly canon is the Naruto manga serialization done by Kishi, everything else is a spectrum ranging from fillers to Boruto Movie.

This new series is not high up that spectrum considering he won't write or draw it. He's not heavily involved in this like he was for the Boruto movie. I actually think they just threw in the "Kishi Supervising" bit so fans can be more excited for it, I bet Kishi won't give a damn about it, he's burnt out. :lol

The only thing Canon here is the 700 chapters serialization done by Kishi and the 10 chapter from the Gaiden and Boruto the Movie who was the only movie heavily supervisioned by Kishi.

All the Novels after chapter 699, The Last and now this new series aren't canon.

This is just more money to Kishi and Jump milking while Naruto is profitable.

If Kishi resolves to continue Naruto one day he will ignore all these shits.

Like He ignored all these novels and the Last events in the Gaiden and in Boruto the Movie.

Highly doubt they did. Plus it's against the law. In everything Kishi has been stated to be a supervisor on or anything along those lines, he's in much more involved then you are implying.
