Things like tenderness and love are commonly shunned amongst men. The reason for that is men don't want to be suffering pain due to heartache so they treat women like lesser beings. Calling women *****es and hoes is a defense mechanism for insecure men. Men that behave gangsta behave this way to show no openings. They refuse to put themselves in a vulnerable state so act gangsta and treat women like products. This behaviour is the real weakness.

I don't believe in being an ******* to attract women but I don't believe you should pursue anything that leaves you worse off than it found you. Love is no exception.

To a degree, he's right. A person who loves nothing is no person at all. Whether it be a metaphorical/figurative, platonic, familial, or romantic love. If you spend your entire life loving nothing, then there's no real meaning in your life.

And once again, if you're(not you, Brooks, you as in people in general) in a relationship where buying someone shit on Valentine's is your best choice to be physically intimate with them, that's not the holiday being faulty, that's being in a shitty relationship.
