I remember when I was dumb enough to think it was fun. Like, legit, in hindsight, the original Yu-Gi-Oh was a "It's so dumb, it works," kind of thing.

5D's was cool though.

I enjoyed the anime, even Zexal despite the hate it got. Haven't seen the anime after that.

Also, there were good memories trading and playing at school.

Everyone in my class collected cards, i remember mc donalds giving away elemental heroes in their kid meals back in grade school. And getting Blue eyes shining dragon from that one movie. Good times.

i spent way waaay too much money on those cards back in the day. and once i was a teenager i was "too cool" for this and didnt wanna be laughed at so i sold and gave away all my cards for almost free T_T
i had like 3 white blue eyed dragons i had the dark magician, the red eyed black dragon, the gate guard thing wich required 3 parts, buster blader and a hell lot more i cant name anymore....

as for the show i really enjoyed the series up to the battle city tournament with marik. after that it did go a bit crazy. but i recently rewatched it and still liked it. but i couldnt stand gx or anything later than that

Good old days!

I remember buying those packs every friday and we would use all our recess time to play against each other. I remember when I got my first blue eyes white dragon... and exodia! Damn!

Funny thing is if you get passed the motorcycles, yugioh 5d arguably had a better story than the original yugioh,

It definitely did. In the very first episode, his grandmother went to the hospital because a mother****ing card was ripped. A card being ripped put him in the hospital. He was on life support.

It used to happen in my school but we were experts on the matter xd. Yugioh cards + beyblade = good times.

Still is fun for me, I honestly hated Zexal and the original, but as Zexal neared it's
end I really started to like it, the battles weren't as generic, awesome scenery and
tons of combos.

Though I never really brought any cards, only played the games and went to DN sometimes.
In terms of the shows I think I like the newer series more, 5D's was good and I think Zexal
really redeemed itself as the series progressed, meanwhile I always felt like the original was
shit.
Never really saw GX though, so idk about that.

But in terms of gameplay, I think I rather old school a bit more, the variety new school offers is
awesome. Though that comes with the problem of people abusing it to the point you sit there and watch them waste like 5 ****ing minutes to kill you on their first turn.
Supposed to be fun, not people playing completely unoriginal decks that are practically
impossible to beat without a very, very specific build.

Jerry The Bean Man ftw :D

The game became boring when the new generation came out. It never got the right balance between attack or defense.

I remember Yu Gi Oh. Me and my bro were big fans in elementary school. My little bro, somehow got a shitload of Yu Gi Oh cards over time and we rarely bought cards. He also had a bag full of Pokemon cards and he never bought one, just collected from school and other kids.
