The author's word is important when it comes to his own work, but it's not unreasonable to expect what the author says to line up with what's presented in his own work. If it doesn't, there's a problem.

Blatantly stupid extremes like "Sasuke's really an African." or "Sakura can use Amaterasu." aren't even worth considering, as far as I'm concerned. And just because the Word of God trope is in play something is considered quasi-canon thanks to the author saying it is, or official supplementary material saying it is, doesn't necessarily mean that it can be considered as a strong point in a discussion.

Hypothetically, just because Kishi or a DB says that Sakura can use the Rasengan doesn't mean that she's better at using the Rasengan than Naruto. The fact that Sakura can use the Rasengan has absolutely no bearing on her place in any given arbitrary tier list, or any given matchup with any other character. She has no feats with the Rasengan. There's nothing that directly indicates how strong, large, or unique she can make her Rasengan, because she's never done it in the manga. The only reason she can even use it is "because Kishi/the DB said so!"

There's no need to argue whether or not something is canon from the author's words. If the author says it's canon, unless it's corn-fed stupid and blatantly, directly contradicts something that was perfectly logical canon once before, it's safe to accept it as canon.

It's just weak canon.

Ehhhh, its usually the fans taking things out of context.

Naruto/Sasuke being par got taken as (recent) : "He said they are equals, so that means they died together every-time"

Naruto/Sasuke progress equally as a pair got taken as (2010 i believe) : "He said they are equals"

He hyped up Edo Madara as someone who has no weakness , which got taken as (but stopped now): "He said Madara doesn't have any weakness, so he had to bring in an asspull to take Madara out".

When fans confuse the writer creating "hype" for his content thats coming , as him being legit serious.. is probably the most funny thing as far as "kishi said" goes.

Don't agree, Kishi could say Sasuke is an African and no words or images could change that.:coffee:

The fact that no country called "africa" or any place named "Africa" exists in Naruto-verse would change that.

I don't agree. Of course what Kishi said it totally and absolutely relevant because he is the author of the story. His words come out of his mind, the same place where the Naruto manga comes out of.

I mean all arguments on the base are based on what was depicted in the manga only and should be proved with manga facts/scans.

so what kishi says or does not say sorta doesn't also have any weight if it doesn't appear in any of his work.

It's kinda like giving an oral explanation to an incomplete science paper that you handed, after it has been graded.

naruto finished at chapter 700 gaiden and so anything that can't be proved with scans from those chapters is not part of the naruto or shouldn't be regarded as so

Does anyone agree?

I agree that what Kishimoto says has no value compared to what he draws.
But I don't agree with your conclusion because 700 isn't the end of Kishimoto's work on that subject.
