Sound genjustu should have ended that battle quickly but I am guessing its not effective when on a team.

Nothing which shows she can pinpoint her genjustu. Its sound based and sound travels everywhere.

If anything sound 3 would need to stand behind her which would just make things ineffective if she wanted to use it.

1. Due to Sakon/Ukon's KKG Kabuto wouldn't be effected since he is connected to her.
2. Sound genjustu only travels forward which would still make it ineffective in a team.

If 1 was even true, they could use the KKG to all join the same body and fight konan as 1, because according to you that would save you from the genjutsu.

Sound doesn't only travel forwards. It bounces off of walls and goes in every direction.
