. Not figuring out how Genjutsu works seems far-fetched if anything, given it'll happen after a summoning jutsu is used.

Hes seen shikamaru's shadow techs before and he's seen asuma put his chakra into those blades before. its easy to put two and two together.

gengetsu flat out explained it for garra and it still took both him, onnoki, and an entire division to find it.

If gengetsu simply keeps his mouth shut kakazu wont figure it out.

If Kakuzu is attacking the illusion, but he still uses atsugai on it, the wind would blow the mist away, nullifying the genjutsu even by accident anyways.

And the fodders had a hard time finding the clam. Gaara and Onoki didn't waste a second on it.

Kakuzu's atsugai clears the mist and the possible hide places for the clam.

But seeing as how it did nothing to effect the jutsu ( not even a little despite canonically displacing air (and as such mist)) I don't see a reason why upping the scale would change the results, unless you have some type of proof beyond "hurry durr it should work based on real world fax"

You're saying astugai would displace the mist, thus ruining the genjutsu.
I shown you something displacing mist yet doing nothing to the genjutsu.

The size/density is irrelevant, given that all explosions cause shockwave propagation and as a result air displacement.
