You gain points by being active around the forum, posting, communicating with other people etc. you can give away points and receive points from other people but they don't suit a purpose... yet.

No one can give you 'post count' You raise that yourself by posting around the forum -by following the rules of course-.

make threads and reply to other peoples threads. you could try this
