Kabuto is more versatile. His reflexes are one of the best we've seen throughout the series. Asuma displays brute/macho strength, nothing about his style illustrates complex versatility. Therefore, I'd give Kabuto the advantage. Kabuto may have stated his CQC was lackluster, however I believe his was being modest, considering his opponent at the time. His movements are elegant/swift, so evading Asuma's movement wouldn't be much of a challenge.

I agree. If you go back to part 1 and look at Kabuto's feats he actually is a relatively well balanced character.

Hiding like a mole probably only works if Kabuto has some type of cover (for instance Shizune's poison gas), otherwise Asuma will see him submerge into the ground and anticipate the ambush, rendering it useless

. P1 Naruto intercepted his kunai attack, and Asuma has better reflexes, CQC feats, and extended range. The only thing Kabuto has here to damage him is chakra scalpels which means he has to get close. A CQC battle will be rather one-sided here. Doesn't really matter how nimble he appears to be lol he gets wrecked in close quarters against Asuma.

Kabuto loses this.

Soldier Pill allows one to release more energy at once which improves your physicality. It functions on the same principles as the Cursed Seal where it powers up the user as it enables the user to tap into more energy at once.

Has everything to do with the thread.

Feats-wise, Kabuto isn't on Base Kakashi's level. Base Kakashi managed to feint him and placed Kabuto in a position where he had to escape. Even Kabuto planned it ahead of time as he sensed Kakashi's presence. He knew he was incapable of killing Sasuke due to Kakashi's presence, so he used that as an opportunity to catch Kakashi off-guard. Unfortunately, that failed and under normal circumstances, Kabuto would've been defeated had he not have prep for his technique ahead of time.

Statements suggesting P1 Kabuto is on par with P1 Kakashi seems ridiculous to me when feats suggest otherwise. At the very least, the statements imply that Kabuto's within the same tier, but still a level below him.

Yeah, he never fought on par with Kakashi. Base Kakashi countered his surprise attack which was stated to be directed towards Kakashi's blindspot, intercepted Kabuto's attempt to kill Sasuke, kicked him back, surprised him with a bushin feint, and the fight itself would've been finished had Kabuto not have ample time to prepare his escape strategy.
