Smoker is already stronger as well presumably. We just need to see more out of his devil fruit.

And yea if hes going to be on Akainu's level, later on in the manga or even surpass them as Luffy's main marine rival, with simply the Smoke devil fruit, we do really need to see more feats out of that.

His haki could use a bit of improvement but still good nonetheless. I'd like Oda to show more of his DF instead. I think it's possible to see Smoker vs Akainu if he ends up becoming admiral. If you recall back to his conversation with Fujitora, he was pissed he can't do anything due to not having a high rank in the marines (i.e. admiral status).

If you look at the video I posted, it talks about exothermic smoke. I haven't done much research on the subject but it does sound interesting.

Yeah but Smoker has also promised to chase and capture Luffy, doesn't mean he can't take the G5 soldiers with him. Smokers not the type to sit behind a desk and stay at a marine base. Smoker only came to the New World to chase Luffy.

Well Vergo didn't see through Bench as he like to do things by himself when it relate to Doffy.After becoming head Smoker can go after luffy without any sort of interruption or can use G5 full attention to find exact location of SH in NW and what they are going to do next.This makes him even more close to his target.

Those are bad translations. The volume translations (volume 18) has Ace saying that a match between our abilities won't get us anywhere. Which was further reinforced with their fight so I don't get why you even brought up those translations.

Well I think it would just make more sense for a more competent person be picked to lead the G5 by competent I mean someone who's willing to stick at a marine base. Again while it may make sense for Smoker to take charge with Vergo being gone, it goes against Smokers character to take that role so I'm not so sure you know.
