[Discussion] Injustice of Smoker-san!!!

Man, i don't know what Oda is planning with Smoker, but holy shit did he go down the drain compared to his last appearance pre-timeskip.


To me the dude was still the most badass Marine, UNTIL his appearance in post-timeskip.

Example, of why he was the most badass Marine to me , before his appearance in the new -world:

And the injustice.. his new world performance was just horrible, for the guy to be completely at mercy of the pirates.. yet hes trying to compete with the guy who is going to be the pirate king, similar to Garp competing with Roger.. Unless SMoker is going to make some epic appearances later on, that are going to put him at Luffy's level.. Because currently, they aren't even on the same level.


His character design ... well in that hes similar to luffy, becomes more goofy looking. I perfer both of their character designs from arcs like Albasta over the arcs from marineford - current

Smoker was always a lost cause, don't expect much from him power wise, expect good character and stuff.

Well everyone revelent character got stronger, law, supernovas and even tashigi, still weak in comparison. Tbh I don't expect smoker to show some mind blogging combat feat, more like in a very critical moment some WG High up dude be like: Smoker you have a shot, kill x guy do it, it's an order! And smoker responding like: Since when did I give a **** about you, I have my own justice! " and doesn't do it. That kinda thing, it just seems to fit his role better imo.

If you're talking about Punk Hazard, then that arc was more to have Smoker get character development than show off what he learned over a TS. Notice that all he showed to us was his haki and nothing else. We didn't even see a DF technique out of him yet. I'll assume that the next time we see Smoker, we can expect to see more out of his DF. Despite seeing nothing new out of his DF, he still showed some impressive feats. He pushed Law to mid diff & did a considerable amount of damage against Vergo.

Are you seriously asking those questions? You're reading One Piece, right? Oda isn't going to forget about his characters and he will bring Smoker back. His DF is interesting and there's a lot of ways he can make him powerful. I'm intrigued to see Smoker's DF awakening the most (if he does get one).

They will be in the same league, there's been build up of their rivalry/fight since pre-TS. Hopefully, this is foreshadowing for not just a fight but an all out fight to see Smoker's true strength:

A nice fan theory suggests that Smoker will be obtaining a new weapon from Vegapunk's lab and him getting an OP DF awakening. However, before that I want him to reveal a technique that's equivalent to Luffy's 2nd/3rd gear. With all this, he'll pose a huge threat. It really depends on what Oda does with his DF but seeing the portrayal that Smoker has, it's likely he'll pose as a threat to Luffy.

What are some DF techniques he can get before he gets his "new weapon"/DF-awakening? I found some interesting DF techniques that a forum site suggested:

Just wait until Smoker comes back. I've been long ready for him to bust some new world heads and the hype train to take off. Even after all this time and exploring many other manga, he's still the coolest character.

Like Corazon stated Punk Hazard was more of a character development arc for Smoker, wow he suffered some defeats 2 legitimate ones. I'm not counting Doflamingo as Smoker was still injured and was without one of his primary weapons.

Law and Vergo both had interesting variables in the fights. Law was smarter than Smoker so was able to use a strategy in order to blindside Smoker for the win however throughout the fight Smoker was not only keeping up with Law he was pushing Law back. With Vergo Smoker knew he couldn't defeat Vergo by just getting in a fist fight with Vergo so used his logia abilities to distract Vergo in order to get Law his heart back so he could also pay the debt he had with Law.

Smoker will obviously make more appearances and will be stronger each time. Of course Smoker won't reach his full potential until Oda stops nerfing his devil fruit but Smoker has shown impressive haki feats to be honest.

Aokiji uses ice spears....the ice he uses isnt his real body....

All of Smoker's..... well, smoke is his real body. If he becomes a huge cloud of smoke, its his real entire body which makes him a large target.

Akainu creates a wall of magma....the magma isnt apart of his body so if you attack it, Akainu feels nothing.
