This is some ****ing stupid shit.
So these guys want handouts because ancestors...ancestors that they don't even know, were enslaved? I'm pretty sure those very same ancestors would be rolling in their ****ing graves if they could see these people now. Holy shit, there's a world of opportunity out there, and instead of trying to exploit it you're begging for hand outs with an 'or else' for what, extra emphasis? Or else what?
Well maybe you dont understand the horrors of slavery because you dont know them. Let me explain.
Slavery played a huge role in the creation of capitalism. Slavery was a necessity for capitalism because capitalism requires free labor. To understand the tragedies of slavery, you have to understand the economics of it. Many capitalists financed the slave trade. How many slave ships needed to be purchased? How many tools used to control slaves needed to be purchased? How much food and resources were needed to keep the slaves and ship crew alive? Who supplied all of these materials? The same people, who funded Europe before the slave trade, also funded Europe after the slave trade. Most of these people who funded the slave trade were merchants. If it was not for slavery, we might not even have capitalism today. In fact, America is a capitalist country and the foundation of America’s wealth is in fact slavery. Slavery not only financed capitalism, but it also built the land we stand on. Slavery was the biggest business to ever exist in the world. Slavery not only played a huge role for capitalism in America but it also played a huge role for capitalism in England. Slavery helped finance the industrial revolution. Shipbuilders, plantation owners, and merchants connected with the slave trade accumulated vast fortunes that established banks and heavy industry in Europe and expanded the reach of capitalism worldwide. World capitalism was spread out of England; from England, came the world of capitalism. This also is proven because England at a certain point had control over almost the entire world hence the phrase “the sun will never set on the England Empire”. England imposed its practices wherever it went. The slave trade established the centrality in the European economic development.
In conclusion, over the span of 11 months, I have learned that quality is better than quantity. Most people are desensitized when learning about the slave trade because the feelings, experiences, and qualities of each individual life have been taken out of the teaching process. How can you write a history book about the worst thing to ever happen in history, and not include quality? Quality allows you to feel the pain of each individual life which allows you to better learn how things went about and how horrible the slave trade actually was.
The slave trade was the biggest business in the history of the world. The slave trade built governments, businesses, countries, extremely rich white families, and incredibly powerful economic systems. All of this built on each individual back of 12.4 million human beings. Imagine being taken from your family by some stranger that you’ve never seen before, to be cleaned by them, to be forced fed, to be in a ship with its cargo (you and every other slave) so compacted your like sardines in a can, imagine rats crawling on you while you are laying down unable to move, imagine having to sit in your own feces for days upon end, imagine contracting multiple diseases while on the ship, imagine seeing a black woman raped and having no ability to stop it, imagine you are taken to a doctor while being stripped naked in front of everyone to have your body examined and touched on, imagine being put in something like a halfway house where you are taught how to be a slave, you are seasoned (made to look appealing to buy by being cleaned by someone else naked in front of everyone), best into submission, and forced to run around naked towards your food, imagine when you get to the shores of America, you are stripped naked in front of a large group of people to be sold having no idea what’s going on because you don’t speak their language, imagine being force separated from your family to go work for some white man you just saw, imagine that you are working every day, doing some type of farm work that does not benefit you for almost 24 hours, and if you stop even once, you are whipped, imagine witnessing a slave revolt and as a result, you are forced to watch them be tortured beyond imagination so that fear would enter into your hear and you may never revolt, imagine having cast iron masks put on you for embarrassment, imagine being tied to the ground and being beat by a stick until all your bones are broken as a form of torture, imagine escaping and once you do the dogs find you and when you are brought back some white man cuts off your foot, hand, genitals, ear, or tongue. This all happened in the slave trade and more. Learn the processes by which people had to go through just to be brought to America.
