Max and his broom have made countless of appearances so far in the series, however always on the background. It's the first time that this gag was done up front and that the act of shoving the broom was shown, usually Max simply ended up with a broom somehow.
This is pretty much the equivalent of when in OP Pandaman would start to have a dialogue with Luffy.
I just dont see how FT wins.
Only 3 of the 12 have joined in and it already looks terribly bleak.

I wouldn't say the guy he's fighting is fodder, probably the same level as brandish's henchman that she shrunk. And he's not struggling in base, he's just put a limiter on the amount of magic he's using. The fire attacks he's used are nothing compared to what he has previously used, like that raw against blue note is a completely different scale to these fire bursts.
OT; the chapter was fine, I really like how Natsus calculating things, and how Mira put all those people to sleep. We shall see what brandish's thing for Lucy is next week and hopefully if anyone will help erza out.

Actually ,ultear could do it instantly, but many mages have opened the 2nd origin without there knowledge by training and doing missions.It was discovered by the scientists(if you could call them that) that the mages have 2 vessels.Mages like ur, makarov, jellal, laxus, hades, zero, laxus etc might have had already opened the 2nd origin without there knowledge, bcoz it has been already existing from the very beginning ,just the mages didnt knew about it or you could say they didnt have a term for it
Was this actually specified somewhere or are you just assuming things as the only thing the manga said, was that scientists discovered 2nd Origin and that Ultear's magic was able to unlock it in other people. Nowhere was it written that many mages opened it naturally, let alone that Laxus and others have opened it, which is also contradictory to the concept of 2nd Origin.
There were mentions by gray and natsu that laxus and erza might have opened 2nd origin already

The only thing they said about Erza was that she might have already achieved it because she didn't seem to have any pain while all the others were suffering, however their comment was not based on reason or anything, they blurted it out because they couldn't understand what they were seeing. Their comment belongs under the "that's Erza for you" category, meaning it hardly can be used to draw conclusions from. The fact that Erza said she unleashed her 2nd origin in her fight with Minerva clearly shows she did not have it before as that would render the entire concept of 2nd origin mute. An unused till recently not known before source of magic but characters left and right already achieved it on their own...how would that be an unused source of magic that was only recently discovered?
If anyone could just achieve it regularly, it would have been discovered centuries ago and it wouldn't be unused. 2nd origin is a reservoir of magic, if suddenly the magic of certain mages gets a massive increase, it's origin should have been discovered long ago. Opening it bit by bit is not an explanation either as what's different then from the regular magic? Nothing.
I would need see the page of Laxus, but highly likely it would be the same thing again: they blurted it out because they couldn't apprehend his power.
Keyword here is unused, did ultear actually say that it was unused? I dont know about that ,i havent seen the official translations yet, but i dont think she used the word 'unused'
Its more like they havent noticed the 2nd vessel.Also how would you explain erza controlling her vessel?That she can release her 2nd origin anytime she wants

Nice chapter but next chapter title tho -_-. Okay I am sure it will be the fanservice-ish chapter based on what Mashima said in twitter. This might be another Song of fairies like chapter......<_<. I hope there is any valid reason behind Brandish actions in this chapter otherwise it looks like Mashima forced the narration in that way just for the sake of providing fanservice to those minimal fans in his fanbase who enjoy it. Well then I am worried about tomorrow's chapter....smh.
I liked last week's chapter better. I didn't thought about Mirajane Seilah. So there is a range limit to Macro?. Bakel's eyes seems intriguing. Nice Scarf.

If that would be the case, then there would be nothing new at all. Then people would have been using it for ages, which would then be illogical to call it a recent discovery as people would have noticed that suddenly their magic power received a huge boost.
If it's not a never before used source of magic, it's not a new discovery. You pretty much acknowledged that by referring to Erza as it shows it's a reservoir of magic separate from the usual magic and she was only able to use it after Ultear did her thing. If Erza was able to do that without Ultear, well then it was not a new discovery as people should have been doing it for ages.
It really doesn't matter how you translate it as the entire point is that it's a source of magic that normally is not used. If that isn't the case, 2nd origin loses all meaning.
