Water is what can be plentiful when near a great source such as an ocean, lake, etc. It can be used both offensively and defensively by creating water shields for defending and shooting off and using water to wash over for attacking. Water is weak against lightning and strong against fire. But I believe that a much stronger fire can overcome a less water attack.

Yes, water is one of the, if not the most versatile element and near a water source can be much more useful, however, water isnt weak against lightning, but earth. Earth is much dense and solid element, thus, being stronger than water. And yeah, water is strong against fire but if the gap of power between them is too big, a strong enough fire jutsu can evaporate and overpower a weaker water jutsu.

You talked about lightning being stronger than water. You were wrong as i said, but lightning can be very useful with water element. If you mix them both, you get water that shocks everything on contact. It's even stronger than earth if combined with lightning. You can also combine it with wind element to add more destructive power. With earth, you create mud. And with fire you can evaporate water, which can be very useful for strategic means, such as creating a big cloud of evaporated water and do a stealthy attack on your opponent for example.

ok, first, walk on water and sit in the middle of the river
Concentrate and focus on the water flowing around you. After a while, try to mix your chakra with the water and feel it's flow.

Alright

*Focus chakra towards chakra and tries to balance it. Then walks on the river and as I'm about to sit down, focuses chakra towards the buttock and back thigh area to be able to sit on water. Afterward concentrate the water flow around me and tries to mix it with my chakra*
