The only Uzumaki he ever truly interacted with was Nagato and he was retconned as an Uzumaki after he died. Kushina doesn't really count since that was just her chakra.

How many times you are going to make thread about the same topic? I would say that genjutsu is off little importance seeing that Uchiha genjutsu was too much for Kurenai too. And if Sakura learned that people would call her a second Kurenai. Shikamru is his father's copy when it comes to techs. Most clan members are. :shrug: Why it's such a big deal even? Being a medic like Tsunade is smarter choice. Not that you would be convinced ever seeing how you argue over it.

Seriously, though, his problem is he relies on the opinions of others like his editor and polls too much. He said that other Mangaka including Oda tell him to try to do what he wants more often. I guess his biggest flaw is he's insecure and too obedient. It was probably SJ's idea to end it at 700 because it sounds nice.

I agree he's a genius but he's a pushover, he always ends the good shit early because some shits with bad opinions tell him he should skip ahead or forget about this character. Maybe he has OCD about not following advice.

I believe the most likely case is that Kishi forgot about Sakura's genjutsu hype. Since he admitted that she slipped his mind as mentioned on the previous page.

Over a year? I'm pretty sure Gaiden and the Bolt movie were extremely recent.

Kurenai managed to escape Itachi's genjutsu though. Kurenai was also sidelined after her one combat skirmish in Part 1. You look at how Sasuke and Itachi used genjutsu against eachother in the Uchiha hideout; casting, escaping, casting again and escaping again. Then look at things from Zetsu's POV; where Sasuke and Itachi were just standing in one place not moving for minutes, and you see the problem with genjutsu. As a tactic, it's not as cool to write/draw compared to taijutsu and ninjutsu battles.


The real problem is that there is no way to use genjutsu as your only tactic or skill in battle. By this stage in the manga (beginning of Part 2), most shinobi they encounter know how to combat genjutsu, and if that person has a dojutsu; then the exercise would be pointless.


Genjutsu could've been better utilized if Kishi wrote it the way comic book characters like Loki, Gypsy, Jason Strkyer, Scarecrow or Scarlet Witch use illusions. Where the user uses illusions on themselves or their surroundings to confuse and disorient their opponent, before attacking them. It keeps the action going, and is mental and physical. And not the way genjutsu is used in Naruto where the genjutsu affects the victim's brain and leaves them in a stupor or blank state, until the victim either frees them self, rescued by someone else or is taken out by their attacker.

The whole genjustu thing was worthless hype Kishi did for her so she somewhat relevant to T7 in part one.
