Seriously, though, his problem is he relies on the opinions of others like his editor and polls too much. He said that other Mangaka including Oda tell him to try to do what he wants more often. I guess his biggest flaw is he's insecure and too obedient. It was probably SJ's idea to end it at 700 because it sounds nice.

pretty much this. Kishi put too much energy into riding the Uchiha that everyone else aside from Naruto paled in comparison. Throw in that Kishi admitted he is bad at writing for women and you get what we got.

The only Uzumaki he ever truly interacted with was Nagato and he was retconned as an Uzumaki after he died. Kushina doesn't really count since that was just her chakra.
