"Rusty"

It is implied by Shin that the rustiness means there is peace therefore they had no reason to fight. There is a sense of comedy in all this, even when Naruto was Stabbed or Sasuke letting Shin escape. It feels they were just relaxing, just seeing where things will go in order to discover who was this Shin character.

They weren't Rusty, both are god like characters with huge amounts of chakra and resources to fight their enemies. The small amount of power they shown in the Gaiden was enough to defeat Shin and scare the hell out of little Shins. In Boruto the movie there was no rustiness, they just needed to be pushed a bit further in order to get serious.

Kurama said Naruto was rusty, and the latter admitted to it. Naruto & Sasuke shouldn't have needed any motivation to sit Shin down with 1 good shot, considering them being demigods. Seeing as how it took Sakura 1 punch and all of 5 secs at the most to flatten Shin w/o killing him, the rust was certainly on the both of them somewhere.

Naruto's battle senses were dulled, and I guess you can say the same for Sasuke since he failed to notice his sword was planted with a trap.

I could care less either way, they definitely aren't "rusty" in the movie, that's for sure.

that was a kiddie Shin clone Naruto talked to, not the actual Shin. The part where Naruto's rustiness was brought up was most certainly not a comedy device.

It was implied they both performed poorly, thats a fact.

Also in Boruto the movie Naruto was nerfed hard yet still performed evenly if not better than sasuke vs momoshiki. Naruto was mentally exhausted from his kagebunshin working 24/7 around the village, remember when the jutsu is undone Naruto receives all their experience/stress.

Also Naruto stopped a massive gudodama and momomoshiki took a large portion of his chakra. However Naruto still wrecked stuff and he even provided his son the power to solo momo. :Sparks: ​

The only fact is your comprehension level is lacking.. Kurama said Naruto is rusty.. Same scan shows Sasuke stating he was weakened.. Naruto was stating kurama was right because he was rusty.. Good day

You would expect him to, Shin didn't really use any secret techniques. I mean his Rinnegan and Sharingan should have perceived his intentions, but like I was trying to say. Their battle powers weren't rusty, more over their battle senses due to them both not having real competition in such a long time.

Even though Sasuke was away searching dimensions, we don't have any valid proof he was fighting anyone. Though that doesn't mean he kept himself sluggish over the years, it just means he never had someone to fight equally with like the good 'ol days. Same goes for Naruto.

But it's obvious in the Movie they are on top level, otherwise they wouldn't be able to move like that. I can't really come to a conclusion that their bodies aren't in to shape both physically and mentally ... if not then they are more powerful than we realize, and that's without counting the nerfs.

Er I'm not sure if there was another specific seal on Sasuke's sword but Shin's seal is the reason why he was able to manipulate Sasuke's weapon.

The seal was visible to the naked eye, it wasn't invisible.

Not to mention the Sharingan and Rinnegan provide more cognitive senses than what we can see with our eyes alone. It's not lack of skill, but lack of being in battle.

Taking a look at it closer, both Naruto/Sasuke had exclamation points over their heads which makes me believe they probably suspected something fishy going on during the exchange between hand/seal and sword, but again ... they haven't been in battle long enough to be prepared.

The seal is viable... Sasuke later burns some weapons he sees the seal on, ridding of the seal.
I don't think it should be difficult for Sasuke to notice someone with a seal on their hand purposely grabbed
his sword practically taking a hit.
