My knowledge on Gaara and Sasori are severely lacking, but I doubt IS would really be effective against the huge quantity of sand gaara can manipulate

Depends, if Sasori uses ISWO, or IS varients DIRECTLY above the dome where his third eye can't see then I don't see why he would be able to counter without getting skewered. He'd have to get him to retreat to the dome first though.

IS has to be faster than Gaara's third eye to see if he wants to do that. I doubt it. Also Shouldn't IS lose magnetism by going further and further from Sandaime's body?

It wouldn't be that far, and probably not it would just take more chakra to create a larger field. It doesn't have to be faster if he distracts the eye with one attack while trying to form it with another, not to mention ISWO si a pain to avoid if he's in the dome regardless of if he sees it or not.

Gaara's sand blocked a senjutsu enchanced Susanoo sword, no way is IS piercing trough it. Pt 1 Garra's Sand was already more durable than iron. Sasori can't dodge Gaara's sand, which will catch and crush him.
Gaara wins with low diff.

I suppose I'll put in my two cents.

So, Sasori's arsenal...

- Hiruko, Sasori's first line of both defense and offense.
- The Third Kazekage, giving him access to Iron Sand.
- Himself. Sasori is a pretty versatile weapon all on his own.
- A personal army of over a hundred other puppets at his disposal.
- Poison. On everything.

And Gaara's arsenal...

- The entire battlefield. Gaara has the home field advantage and the ability to strike from literally anywhere within those 30M.
- Shukaku, assuming this is before it was extracted.

There's no doubt that Sasori is incredibly deadly at both close and long-range, with all of his puppets, including himself, at his disposal, but Gaara has a single staggering advantage. His sand has the means of disabling most, if not all of Sasori's offensive capabilities. It's as easy as clogging up their mechanisms with sand and making them unusable, or at the very least much harder to use effectively. Even Sasori himself is susceptible to this. And with an entire battlefield of sand to manipulate for his purposes, where can Sasori go to avoid this? He's screwed on the ground, and not much better in the air.

In order of difficulty...

Hiruko, at least, is easily disabled, no diff. He's large and slow.

The Third Kazekage is a harder matchup, but is still low-diff. Iron Sand trumps regular sand, but unlike Sasori, who has a limited amount, Gaara has a whole thirty meters worth of sand to contest the Kazekage puppet's. He could easily keep Sasori on the defensive sheerly by overwhelming him. Sakura destroyed the Kazekage puppet by reading its movements in the way Sasori was manipulating it. How hard could it be for Gaara to do the same, without ever needing to get close enough to be threatened by poison.

Sasori himself is a mid-diff threat. Because he is himself, there's no inherent lag in his movements like there would be for the Kazekage puppet, which makes catching Sasori more difficult, but still very possible in a battlefield of sand.

Sasori's hundred-puppet army is a much greater challenge in this matchup, but I still think Gaara pulls through, high-diff. A single Sand Tsunami invariably takes out at least several puppets. Sasori's close range puppets put Gaara on the defensive, but they could still be methodically disabled. If worse comes to worst, letting Shukaku loose is a last resort.

If it was anywhere else, like a forest or plain, Sasori takes it mid-diff at best. But putting them in the Sand Village gives Gaara an insurmountable advantage. There's a reason Sasori let Deidara go in alone to capture Gaara.

Those were Susano clones man, they weren't even capable of damaging Mei on contact..

Edit: You see Ay catch the Susano sword with one arm lmfao . 1st time I notice this smh. Bee is physically stronger then Ay in v2 Raiton shroud, and that was Ay in v1. I guess Bee plays around with legged v3 Susano's strength wise.

Is that not how it works? I'll admit, I'm a bit unfamiliar with how Sasori's fight went when he got his Kazekage puppet involved, but it seemed like all the Iron Sand that he used came entirely from the puppet, unless the Third Kazekage could produce iron powder quickly and naturally in his body.

Even assuming the Kazekage's puppet had iron stored inside his body ready to ground up into powder to use for Iron Sand, there's still only so much iron available, whereas Gaara has an ocean of true sand under his feet to manipulate. There's no way the Kazekage puppet could have a limitless amount of Iron Sand, unless he could create iron powder from nothing.

Did you see those bigass blocks of IS he created? All that cound not fit in that small puppet. Sasori could increase the amount of IS drastically very fast. I guess that 3rd Kazekage was similar to Rasa, Gaaras father, who could produce large amounts of Golden Dust in no time wharsoever. Keep in mind, that 3rd was said to be considerably stronger than him. And if 3rd could do it, so can the puppet that was made of him, since thats how human puppets works.

Gaara can't create sand yet he has more sand in his gourd then what would appear could fit.

Gaara could produce new sand with his sand from the rocks, we have seen this during his fight with Kimimaro. Besides, did you see Iron Sand World Law technique? That thing was HUGE. There is no way that all that crap could fit into that puppet.

Obviously. However I'm talking about the sand inside his gourd.
