Luffy didn't get wrecked but he would've been had the fight continued. At this point of time an Admiral would low diff Luffy, maybe mid if being generous, but towards the end even without a timeskip SHs would reach that level. Just look at Luffy and the crew's growth pre time skip, pit their saboady archipelago version against the one when they were in the beginning of the series and SA version would win with ease. Same thing would happen here, they would get to the level of people who can casually take them out right now.

I don't know where to begin. Who says fuji wasn't trying? Who says Luffy was? Who says maintaining all the citys rubble makes fuji weaker? And most importantly who (besides you) read those manga panels and thought Luffy got rekt? Fuji sent him flyiny with an attack, thats about it. Is that what you call rekt?

Fuji hasn't even used 50% of his power if he did Luffy body would be cover in all the rubble with his body in pieces by Fuji's sword. Look how Luffy is yelling on how he isn't going to lose, he's definitely trying. And yes that is what I call "rekt" because Luffy couldn't do shit against it.
