He is a pathetic selfish excuse of a shinobi. He talks about being in the shadows, yet wants to be hokage. He deserved his fate, I only wish more was done to him.

There was no need to kill everybody in the clan. Not everyone was a threat. Just the shinobi who had power, so by default he was evil for initiating an attack on innocent people.

No, not everyone was a threat. At that time. However, the innocents would've lost their innocence. How many more Sharingan monsters would've been created had the devastated, orphaned children been spared? How much pain could the elderly take when their sons and daughters were executed for treason and their clan was thrown into the mud?
How many would plot another coup? They'd be relegated to something below second-class citizens, they'd have to be watched day in and day out.

The whole shinobi thing has been shown to be f*cked up and was made clear that it needed change. Danzo was willing to have others sacrifice, just not himself. Hypocrite.

To me, Danzo's most serious flaw was not his selfishness or greed (though he had those too), but his distrust of others. He even put seals on his own men, and he did everything his own way without consulting anyone. He was always prepared to betray and be betrayed. Now, remember what Itachi told Naruto about being a Hokage? It's about acknowledgement from others. He reminded Naruto that he wasn't doing everything alone. Danzo, however, ultimately believed that he was the only one suited to properly rule the village.

That said, I find Danzo to be one of the most interesting characters.

What's the difference between Danzo and people like:

A 3rd Raikage, and Ay 4th Raikage? Both of them instituted a policy of stealing jutsu from other villages and stealing of KKG from other villages. Ohnoki confirms this during the 5 Kage Summit. Recall that Hinata was nearly kidnapped by Cloud Ninja, in order to steal and study her byakugan. Ay 4th Raikge sanctioned this. Also Kushina was nearly kidnapped by cloud ninja as a child as well. A 3rd Raikage sanctioned this.


Bloody Mist Village and their actions being sanctioned by Mizukages. Even before Obito genjutsu'ed Yagura, this was the practice in Kiri.


Ohnoki actively sanctioned and employed the Akatsuki to do missions for the Iwa.


The 4th Kazekage sanctioned a coup de teat against an allied nation, with a criminal alongside Orochimaru. Need I remind you of what Rasa did to his own wife and son (Gaara).


The shinobi world is a mean and cruel place. Danzo is in good company.

Having a character not be justified is not the same as a character being flat. What is wrong with someone continuing on their dark path even when they know that it is wrong :| Yet everyone in Naruto somehow wants peace in their own way. It was just a continual rehash

Because what sort of human doesn't want their own idea of peace? It is completely unrealistic to actually want the destruction of the world. The most realistic "bad guy" I can think of that isn't super fake would be sasuke before the end, when he just wanted revenge on the world and to **** shit up out of spite. He has reasons to hate the world and wanted people to suffer for it, but as I recall, he got a lot of shit for being a "petty crybaby" and being "emo". So what the hell do the fans want?

Wow one good deed, he prevented obito from attaining shisuis sharingan the sharingan he stole from shisui by the way I take back every nasty thing I've ever said about Danzo despite the fact he withheld support from Konoha during pains attack so he could become hokage or and he threatened an orphanage to best suit his agenda oh and after he took in a child and made it into the greatest spy he decided he'd send the woman whom this child considered to be his mother to kill him basically destroying the child's mind but yes your right because he destroyed an eyeball all is forgiven right
