I also disliked Gaiden, but I'm not gonna lie, people were literally begging for some new content after the regular naruto series ended, like a pool of threads hoping for a part 3 or some extra chapters, so in a way they got what they asked for

1. Agreed the Gaiden did absolutely nothing for Boruto's character.

2. I would rather have a Gaiden on what Cho Cho eats than this one, it was absolutely horrible.

Boruto isn't a clone of Naruto. He's a prodigy. Naruto wasn't...

In the Gaiden ... well they characterized Boruto as nothing more than a Naruto clone, while he may have been a Prodigy, that fact wasn't established in the Manga itself. He did have some nice perks of his own, like being a low cut tsundere (i-e: Pretending not to care about his father when he did) and some other cool instances, they weren't strong enough to label him otherwise.

The movie does a better job on his characterization due to it focusing primarily on him.

Why was Chocho even there? She could've been absent after the first chapter, and everything would've turned out EXACTLY the same. So many people make fun of Boruto, but I think at this point, Chocho is easily the worst character of the new generation.
