no mihawk is not confirmed to be stronger than shanks, people need to realize there's a difference between strongest swordsmen, strongest pirate, strongest marine, and strongest person.

no mihawk is not confirmed to be stronger than shanks, people need to realize there's a difference between strongest swordsmen, strongest pirate, strongest marine, and strongest person.

Strongest swordsman doesn't put you above anyother swordsman, it just means that strongest swordsman is better in sword art than any other man in the world. That doesn't mean that you are better than him in devil fruit usage, haki, stamina, etc..

When it comes to Shanks and Mihawk it's pretty deep.

- Mihawk is stated to be strongest swordsman, Shanks is swordsman. Shanks doesn't have devil fruit (as long as we know, 10 years ago he could swim), he showed great haki, Mihawk's haki is unknown. Shanks' primary weapon is sword art (every time he was shown fighting he was with sword), so Mihawk is better than Shanks in his primary weapon. So how much haki can close a gap between their difference and how strong is Mihawk's haki is?

Also, in the past Mihawk wanted to fight Shanks (assumption - Shanks was one of the best swordsmans around and by defeating him, Mihawk would gain title strongest swordsman). We know somehow Mihawk gained that title (assumption - he beat Shanks), we know Shanks was hidding in the weakest see for year, why? (assumption - he was ashemed after his lost).

It's a lot of speculation considering we need to see their past, but atm most likely assumption is that Mihawk is/was stronger.

Shanks could get stronger in last 10 years, but I doubt Mihawk was just sitting around while Shanks trained, and he got handicap by loosing one arm.

Garp said that Yonkos are strongest pirates, but even then not all translations refers to them as strongest pirates, some of them refer to them as "Strongest pirates in the New World", Mihawk lives in paradaise, so in that case he is excluded.

SBS hardly means anything just letting you know. Oda says most of that stuff on a whim. And we already know Mihawk is a legend, nothing that we don't already know in that SBS.



About the strongest swordsman deal, I've always thought of the strongest swordsman as one who is the strongest in the art of the sword. A sword master. That doesn't mean he is the strongest person that holds a sword. Lets say WB decided to use a sword, that wouldn't put Mihawk above him, he is just a stronger swordsman not the stronger man overall....

Mihawk > Shanks in swordsmanship,
doesn't mean Mihawk > Shanks as a pirate overall.

Simply cuz whitebeard (correct me if I'm wrong) didn't not dodge any attack.... And that's not something u can do with mihawk... If akainu was able to blow off half of his face with unnamed attack... Mihawk should b able to cut him in half ...

Unfortunately that's not how it works in One Piece. Characters durability are much higher than inanimate objects. Otherwise Swordsman would have an overwhelming advantage in the verse, yet most of the swordsman in One Piece are first mates.

Daz cut the pillar to pieces yet couldn't cut Zoro deep.

Its possible Mihawk could do that in due time after a few blows but certainly not in one attack unless WB was completely undefended, and even than I doubt he'd cut him in half most likely just a deep cut.

The point of Mihawks slash was to prove how far way even one of the strongest characters introduced at the time was from whitebeard. The slash proves that he doesnt deserve a spot at the table with WB because the slash didnt even reach him. The whole thing was less a physical display of power as it was a metaphor for the distance between mihawk and WB, in fact Mihawk even states he was measuring that gap and then once his slash was stopped he didnt try again and he walked away realizing the result. If your strongest slash cant go through his commanders then it doesnt deserve to get to WB. Oda was using it to hype WB's strength and to give a comparison, that much was clear and it was clear where mihawk stood.

Now it is likely that wasn't mihawks absolute strongest slash but to that I would still say he isnt near to winning against WB, I think WB could easily block a slash with his bisneto or even put a quake ion the sky that scatters the slash. Up close is dangerous territory for both of them but inevitably the fight would have to go there if anything was to be done. I don't think WB would win without injury, but rather he would be sure to bear a large and permanent scar from a very serious injury, but Mihawk has nothing he has shown that can block a gura punch. The sword may stop the fist but not the quake, the physical strength difference would leave mihawk struggling to keep WB's punches at bay and would mean mihawk can only counter attack which is where WB could be injured, but i dont think anything he could do would cause WB to lose because even shanks with two arms scarred WB but didnt kill him and he was said to be = to mihawk in swordsmanship (dont forget shanks has CoC as well so therefore he is potentially stronger than Mihawk) Ultimately mihawk would get hit by a gura at some point at that would end the fight. There arent any previous injuries in this fight like WB vs akainu so WB slipping up is slim at best

Because Wb took a serious injury prior to having that heart attack, multiple serious injuries actually. The cumulative damage pushed him over, not the age alone.
