I am aware. lol. I was just bored.
No body cares for sakura or hinata nor ever read it for the female characters. Mods just need to "moderate".
No worse than Nami or Boa but they get fans so....I really don't understand such craze for these two. The problem is that Naruto fanbase is really the toughest fanbase to please or at least one of such groups. No matter what the writers does they split down the middle and rage.
Naruto is absent from the manga for a few chapters:
Fan rage: " this manga is called Naruto where is he?"
Naruto is in every chapter:
Fan rage: " why Naruto is doing everything"
Ssuke is absent: " manga has gone to shit no sasuke."
Sasuke is back.
Fan rage" " why don't Kishi call the manga sasuke and be done with it."
Sakura does nothing:
" she is useless"
Sakura learns medical Jutsu
"Sakura is just a copy"
Naruto marries Hinata:
"no love was developed"
in case Naruto didn't marry Hinata:
Fan rage: He ignored her despite neji dying...
There was never a win win situation for Kishi with such responses.
Are these two character anything worth arguing over - no. Are they that badly written to attract such long discussions over them-- not at all.
Most women in shonnens are not going to get a front seat. There are few series they give them that chance. Unless of course they are also using them for massive fan service and balancing it out with sexual objectification. There are some but very few.
Sakura did have some good moments, but Hinata.. oh Hinata. She's only in this manga to be paired with Naruto, I don't see how she had any other purpose. Again that's just my opinion. Tsunade and Konan are far better characters than these 2.
Hinata is what typically they call the " wife material" so no wonder she has fans.

I never felt any empathy towards Hinata for some reason.
Sakura I feel was kept back a bit by the author in order to keep the focus on the main relationship of Naruto-Sasuke. She has good moments though and, despite her shortcomings, she becomes an amazing main character as the manga develops. There isn't just much focus on it.

Regards to the bold: That's what I thought, as they all improved and Sakara simply learned basics. She didn't even add flavor to her teachings like how Naruto nullified the effects of wind style-rassenshiriken using Sage mode. It would've been amazing to see her learn sage mode or doing some chem 01 making a Med-poison fighting style at the least to say that she really did catch-up! To be honest I find that if I needed a team to fight any future naruto enemy I'd simply take Jesus-naruto and Lord-Sasuke. Why, well regards to naruto stopping EIG #8 death lock, what can Sakara do?
Let me guess you are looking for an argument? She had her arc back in a day and since then she is hardly does anything to focus on. I am saying that's what happens to women in shonnens.
OP is ridden with sexist jokes and sexual objectification. Not that I am not particularly bothered by it. I just find it funny when people act as if it doesn't. For some reason Naruto gets taken too seriously. It's popularity itself brings too many critics.
In fact, I like very few females in all the manga's I have read. And that includes many of the shoujo mangas too. Too many of them have the kind of heroine that even Sakura may look much better off. Good heroines to my liking are hard to come by.

No Naruto doesn't get taken too seriously, the character development is horrible that's all. Hinata hardly had any panel time and now she's made to look like she's a lead character. Sakura was awful in part 1 hardly bareable, Part II she looked promising at the start and then she kept regressing as a character, when suddenly in the war she gets powerups to stay relevant.
Kishi's writing just kept getting worse over time as he got lazier, Nami is a well fleshed out character with a solid backstory and purpose. This is the reason Nami has fans and Sakura is one of the least liked characters in the fandom. Shitty writing will have more people complaining, especially if its a constant thing. Bleach is even worse than Naruto when it comes to people shitting on it.
As for Nami hardly doing anything to focus on? Tell me what Chopper, Brook, Usopp, Robin, do that is so worthy of focus? That's not exclusive to her. The heavy hitters of the crew are Luffy Zoro and Sanji and when it comes to the fighting its obvious they will hog most of it, but One Piece is not all about fights there is a lot more to it and each member plays their role.
This might not be what you were saying but, I don't know why so many people complain about females not being strong in their verse when in reality females are physically inferior to males, why would that suddenly change in a battle manga?

Character development for Nami- she was more interesting when she was introduced. Since then she is just there to show her bikini. Nami crying over random kids and getting overly sentimental and asking not to hit back even when they are attacking= lame. And while we see a gentleman Sanji sexually harassing his crew mate .... Some development for both.. And it's not even the only thing. Lately the situations where she was in compromising position - aka naked in most vulnerable poses also got added.
Her purpose is providing a background support. That's all. Keep lying to yourself that she is more important than that when it's turning into a story of the "Ds". Even her clima tact that she wielded was built by Usopp for her and her first fight with it was ugh.
There was this Boa supposed shichibukai with a tragic past- another supposed great background story- but then somehow she loses her wits completely and all her lessons from the days of slavery is forgotten or as a shichibukai interacting with males all around, when she is running after luffy like a 9 year old idiot.
I don't care about power level but what's else is there to show for the adult Boa? It's simply odd that someone with that background would be this naive as Boa was shown when it came to men. There are so many of them in OP just to play a sexist stereotype and to be mocked. And yes I know sexist joke get hit with men so of course it works. The same way sexual harassment sequence is just a bit to laugh off... That's why I said Naruto is taken too seriously- people complain about stupidest things and ignore real problematic aspect of sexism right there.
We are supposed to feel sorry for that 'nipple in mouth dressed as a baby bad guy' by the end of Franki's fight. ( I will let another sexist joke the stupid female opponent inserted here was - with 'please take care of me' line, slide. Not even talking about 'nipple lights' kind of jokes...). But when he was introduced he was snatching bras of women away that were standing beside him. And somehow we are to feel sorry for him now that we know he was actually in love with someone at a time. I mean really? So it was just to be brushed under the carpet that he is a creep otherwise...or does it excuse his behaviour with other women around him?
Adding a tragic sob story is not everything to writing you know. Some of the sexist joke I don't even mind- But I am going to call a spade, spade.
Thanks for pointing out how most characters really don't have much to do than follow the "D". ^^ And what makes you think that each member is not playing the role in Naruto? Naruto doesn't even tell story of others unless it's to move the the main plot.
If you are not comparing power levels then women from both mangas are in the same boat more or less- i.e. they are secondary. Otherwise , Sakura actually manage to be there in the finale fight and do something. Hinata too was fighting on the front line along with Ino. Even Tenten got to wield Sage weapons. And as a nin both of them have been doing work variously. Hinata often as part of the scouting team and Sakura as a medic. Otherwise as a team, Kakashi's team is obviously going to hog the spot light and it does.
Women in OP are all assistants and most of them are starving for attention and marriage leaving fight midway and falling for the opponent...
Is that a better written women or a better written gag? We are not even comparing the writing skills here. Just portrayal of the women. Remember that?
