How long do you predict it will take? Will he ever get back? Does anyone think that the series won't have a rushed ending at this point? He has taken way too long with the series and it should've finished a long time ago. I honestly wish the manga ended after Gon met Ging and had their discussion on top of the World Tree. That would've been a perfect time to end it since the main character have achieved his goal after a long journey. It's unreasonable for Togashi to think he will end the series on a better note than that especially when he can't even bring himself to do 10 chapters without going on a hiatus. In my opinion either HxH will never end or it will have a rushed ending that's not even good.

I wished it had 600+ chapters atleast. That way I would Get to see more of God Speed and Killua. He was my fav in the series. Gon is soo innocent and always kept me interested

It'd be more nice to have a gradual progression of time where they get older as the series go on, if it goes on.
You mean like goku? Well yeah that would be even better but, I highly doubt he will have enough material(manga chapters) to cover up more than one time-skip or rather one growing-point.

Though with all these hiauts, it would be possible but the wait is going to be long. XD

I'm currently watching the anime. Where I'm at:

Meruem just died.

I didn't realize HxH was only gone for a year. The fans make it sound like it was a 10 year hiatus. I have hope now.

Someone sounds jealous
True, I am, I think there hasn't been such an overhyped manga in the history of manga, except maybe for dragonball. However, having watched and read HxH I think it's ridiculous how people are so obsessed with it and worship it to this extent, I'm not saying that it's not original in some ways but to see its fans sounding almost mesmerized when they talk about it's plainly funny- personal opinion always.

I think I see both sides. When I think about HXH, I try to think why I like it so much. It seems only good at best but I just enjoy it so much at the same time. I've never cried for an anime before but when Meruem died, I hate to say it, but my eyes were tearing up. Never felt like that before.

The fights aren't even entertaining and a lot of the characters are lame, also the plot is relatively simple and at times the music is misplaced. Still don't know why I love it so much.

At least you're honest. Again, I'm not hating it, I even think that it's original and creative in some ways but definetely not worthy of the praise it gets.

HxH does get a lot of hype and praise. I do agree that there's other series out there that deserves just as much praise but there's quite a few things in HxH that you won't find in most shonens. HxH feels like the "darkest" shonen I will read because of Togashi's influence in horror series. I'm also a huge fan of the villains, characters and its battle system. That's what keeps me invested into the series. How far did you get into the series?

I watched the whole anime and I had also read the remaining new chapters. As for his villains, yes some of them are very interesting but some others cause chaos just for the lols, I mean that Joker guy was really crazy and I liked it but for instance that "spider" group, had caused chaos for no particular reason. Also, I don't like the moral of the story. Gon is like a brainwashed kid. To go after a dad who shits on you and have him as role model even though you've never met him (at first) is ridiculous. I also don't like how characters are completely unaffected by the deaths of fodders or even important characters like that cool butler Killua had. They don't act at all, like nothing happens around them.

They're already kinda doing it, in the manga it's already been two years since the hunter exam and we haven't had a timeskip, I like it when you skip days, weeks or months that eventually add up to years.

The young and the innocent.. welcome newbie... Here is a hiatus chart for you:

You must be registered for see images

( the 2 chapters in 2013 were special chapter for the H x H movie that year)

This chart is incomplete- as the current hiatus is in continuation. So just add remaining ) since last entry to till date, yourself.

Though it's still only July. We may see another couple or so chapters before 2015 passes by if we are lucky.

As the things are now I don't see it getting completed ever unless Togashi hires some assistants ( other than occasional help from his wife) to draw it for him. If his back problems started more than 20 years ago and hasn't been sorted out yet- no magic is going to fix it in his senior years.

I feel that's mainly because of Togashi's hiatuses. HxH only has 349 chapters so I don't expect to get answers this "early" on. Yes, it is a issue but I think there's bigger issues that people rarely mention. For instances, Togashi poorly handling the main cast. During Greed island and Chimera Ant arc, we didn't see much progression in Kurapika/Leorio's goals.

I don't see what there's to be jealous of. Yes, it does suck but what does being jealous over a series even accomplish lol? You think you have it bad with TG? Look at Toriko. In Japan, TG is really popular and doing extremely well in sales. Meanwhile, Toriko isn't that popular and the sales isn't that great, even here it's not popular or rarely does it ever get the praise it deserves. Look at the latest chapter discussion, I'm the only one who commented lmao. I'm not going to get jealous over HxH's popularity/praise because I feel that other series deserves it just as much as HxH.

I still have trust in him that he will finish the series and show why its so great and different from other shonen series. HxH and Magi are the best shonen i have seen.

I don't get why some people think it doesn't deserve the praise. First of all every shonen has a simple story to it, whether it is the mc looking for his father or the overused a guy has a dream he wants to make come true. The trick is when you have someone that good as Togashi, then you know he will make something great out of it.

The fights he makes are genius. Not just action, some moves here and there and a poerup to impress teenages to buy it.
There is alot of strategy, the fighting system is more realistic as in other shonen, no asspuls and not definitely not predictable as much as in fights we get everytime. Best fighting sxstem so far.

The development he is giving the characters is also one of his greatness.
By the time of the CA arc, though, Killua had become the light to Gon's darkness. Gon's idealistic and cheerful personality came to work against him, ripping him apart. He became solely focused on rescuing Kite, a single-minded determination that caused him to isolate himself from others and even distance himself from Killua. Instead of the happy Gon we had grown accustomed to, we had an odd, dangerous child out for revenge. This is all heavily contrasted in the same arc with Killua's new friendships. Instead of isolation and despair, Killua grows even more sociable and is able to build new bonds easily, with both Ikalgo and Palm.
Not to mention Kurapika's development in YNC and Meruem's brilliant turn.
This is why i really wanna see HxH coming back soon, because there are still characters left
we haven't seen going through this impact of development.

The villains are just enjoyable and great. It's not your typical ones like poor lil guy had a bad past and bla bla bla.
This is another point where you can see is amazing writing. Even when they are downright evil and commits atrocious acts, they aren't exactly one dimensional. Will be even better once we will finally learn more about Hisoka and the PT.
