The fanboyzeal. You just have to argue and ruin it.

Did I say that H x H is in starting stages? No.This is what I said:

I was referring to especially the ones where writers lose motivation to finish it before the ending of story and just drop it or go on indefinite hiatuses. Togashi isn't first and he wouldn't be last. But, he did end his previous work suddenly too. His statements about being a perfectionist and then what he gives to his readers contradicts with what readers get from him, IMO. I can ignore the art problem but I want to see the ending of story. I want him to get some assistants- other than his wife if need be and manage this hiatus mess better. Deal with it. Feel free to give me a call when H x H is really over to everyone's satisfaction and it's not just an unfinished product.
Lol just because you didn't word it exactly the same way doesn't mean that's not what you were implying. Saying "Having a great concept and starting with a bang" simply doesn't apply to HxH at this point, it wasn't really the best choice of words. We all understand he needs to complete it, but the original comment that you replied to wasn't too far off. From both Yu Yu hakusho and what we have of HxH which is plenty to judge, both works are generally regarded as superior to Fairy Tail and Rave Master.

You can say he is doing everyone a disservice sure, but you can't just say HxH is simply a good start, when its well past its starting stages.

HxH is one of my favorite series of all time but that doesn't mean jack shit. It doesn't matter how good a series is, if the author doesn't care about it, I don't care about it. I won't be happy if he comes back, he'll need to prove himself and do atleast 30 chapters and it doesn't matter how good they are. I won't overlook his hiatuses untill he gives me a reason to think he's serious about continuing.

Would he seriously setup all these subplots and introduce so many characters if he didn't care? I really don't get where people get this idea of Togashi not caring about his manga just because he goes on a hiatus, one that's related to his health mind you. You need to take in account the daily life of a mangaka and understand that he does the drawings all by himself. He only has editors to help him out with the story but no assistants. Yes that's his decision but it shouldn't be overlooked at all.

It's not like this is his first hiatus. Even without health reasons he would've done the same thing which he actually did for a good 2-3 years while the anime was ongoing. Was that due to health reasons? I doubt it, if he can't do weekly then he should do it monthly instead of doing 5-10 chapters and then leaving for 2 years. He's already well off so I get he's not exactly doing this for the money, it's more of a hobby to him. In that case I shouldn't take his work seriously because he doesn't require any support. He just does it whenever he feels like it.

Yeah, I wasn't saying/implying it's his first hiatus. Some of his other hiatuses could be related to redrawing manga chapters for the volume releases. I posted a thread showing the difference between the online scans and what actually appears in the volume, the difference is huge. The health issues started as early as YYH:

The recent hiatus was caused because of his back surgery/treatment. He had back problems since YYH as well, this isn't including the stress problems he had.

So you're saying all his hiatuses are either health related or him drawing for volume copies huh? It's never about him saying "Screw the series, I'm done with writing 10 chapters, now I'll have a break *fast forward 2 years* oh I forgot I had a series like that, well let's write a few more chapters."

Nah most mangakas have health issues here and there...they still continue to draw. Togashi definitely does a lot of this for his own comfort, but you can't hate the guy he doesn't owe us anything. Whats the point of working your ass off just so you can get big and continue to work your ass off? At this point its like a job for Togashi not something he truly loves doing like it is with Oda and thats fine, not everyone is Oda.

Nope, notice that I said some. There may of been of some hiatuses where he just wanted a break. No one knows for sure the causes for his other hiatuses. Besides, do you really think SJ/shueisha will let someone continue his/her own series while he's taking constant hiatuses for "playing DQ" or "he doesn't feel like writing HxH"? That sounds like poor business practices if you ask me. Even bookstores are fed up with his hiatuses.

It's more logical to assume that his hiatuses for the most part stem from his health issues, redrawing manga chapters or even to plan future arcs. Although in a interview he seemed to have a good idea of how HxH should end.

Exactly, people just have high expectations or compare him to godly mangaka's like Oda.

"if he can't do weekly then he should do it monthly instead of doing 5-10 chapters and then leaving for 2 years. "

The people who paid to read his manga have the right to claim that, you don't.
How do you know I haven't payed for his work?
