Interestingly enough the only characters whose looks were ever praised are: Tsunade, Kakashi, Sakura and Sasuke.

Hence that first sketch but he has stated that she was pretty (last sketches) and in the manga she has been called pretty by a few characters, compared to Tsunade in looks by Jiraiya and Kishi made a cover stating that she has Tsunade's beauty.
