Hagoromo makes it clear that his own blossomed chakra is what made Ashura equal to his brother. He then says he makes Ashura the successor, not that he gave him power. Unless Indra obtained more power, Ashura did not receive anything.

Dude lol. Are y'all telling me that out of no where, that Ashura somehow gained Tailed beast chakra mode with out the tailed beast? Just explain this.. Explain it plzz.

I could've sworn that Hago taught ninshuu to both of them before they walked different paths. If they both know ninshuu, then what's the point of making Ashura the leader of it without giving him power.

Who knows what BZ could have told him, for all we know BZ could've been like "Your father never loved you, he was always planning on choosing Asura whether you won or not" or any other low blows that would make any child begin to doubt their parents

You're arguing against manga statements with speculation on your part. I don't even have to debate against it. Ashura equaling Indra with his own chakra during Hagoromo's lifetime is a fact.

I really liked Hago. The SO6P had a very unique personality, it was difficult to understand him at times but he was pretty funny and his design is the best for a Juubi Jin.

IMO Indra overreacted to Hagormo choosing Ashura instead of him, I'd undertand being a bit mad but starting a war over it is too much.
Key: During Hagoromo's lifetime
Since we don't have all the details so we gonna have to use Hashi and Naruto as proof.
Ashura gained Sage mode! during Hagoromo's life time.
On Hagoromo's death bed, He made Ashura the leader of Ninshuu and...
1. Give him his yang energy
or
2. Give him the ability to use chakra mode that are connected to all the tailed beasts
As the leader of Ninshuu, Ashura didn't know Ninjutsu or wouldn't use it at all. So all he got his all this godly chakra.
Indra must've created ninjutsu while he was traveling and was gonna show his father it. But ended up awaken the MS after Hago died and didn't say a word to him at all.
Indra with MS and Ninjutsu went to war with Ashura, who have the chakra of all the tailed beasts.
That's the only logical answer to this picture.

No Hagoromo wouldn't be contradicting himself. Let me explain. And then we'll see who needs to get his facts straight.
Indra didn't have that power initially i.e. MS power. Indra was just a 3T guy with powerful chakra genes. Ashura matched him with cooperation through others. If you're saying Ashura matched Indra's MS powers through cooperation with others, don't you think that's a bit stupid? How could mere people take on perfect Susanoo no matter how much they are in quantity? So that natural power Sage was talking about was the powerful chakra genes and the Sharingan which Ashura matched first through cooperation and then through hard work on his own.
Later on, when Sage saw Ashura's way of living, he decided that Ashura was worthy to be his successor and entrusted the powers of ninshu to Ashura i.e. he gained RSM. Indra matched that power through ninjutsu and gained MS.

Also irl there has been plenty of relationships that ended due to gossip whether they be friendships, familial ties, or romantic... Gossip is a powerful thing and not everybody knows how to just tune out the gossip

He nearly killed Naruto.
Attacked Hinata, brainwashed her, made her fight Naruto.
All while trying to crash the moon into the Earth and kill all life on the planet.
