I'm pretty sure this would've happened to anybody who looks shady, he has messy shit all up in his car, no license, missing plate, some gin, then he drives off. Not saying he's right to shoot him, but even if he hadn't, that wouldn't have been the end. There would be a chase which could endanger others, running from the police is considered consiousness of guilt
He posed no threat to him at all and gave his name twice to run. He was calm and didn't try to cause trouble with the cop. If the cop had simply just radio in a search on his name while waiting next to the car, it would've ended a lot differently. But no, the cop wanted to put his hands on the door to get him out. That's against the law unless the cop have a legit reason to do so.
According to other police officers, they all stated the cop had no reason at all to have his gun out during that moment too when it pretty clear the drive posed no threat to him at all.
Even If the driver was gonna drive off, the cop still have no reason to have the gun out on him according to officials and other police officers.
