^Haki counters logia. Akainu probably used his own haki.

OP: This thread is not needed and you know it, even if G4 was Top tier it wouldn't mean he can beat Akainu.
And why is that? I've seen people swear up and down that Gear 4th makes Luffy Top Tier. As far as I'm concerned, all the top tiers in OP can defeat each other with extreme difficulty. Placing Luffy in this class means that he is a legitimate challenge to Akainu. Though, the very same people who were calling him a top tier are saying he'll get mid diffed by one. Imagine that.
They way I look at things Marco, Doffy, Vista and Jozu are all high-tiers. Luffy himself is a low end high-tier. Top-Tiers are the strongest in the world, ie; Yonkou, Admiral, etc. They should all be able to defeat each other with extreme diff, imo. Either you're a Top-tier or you're not. Therefore, by my standards, if Luffy is suddenly Top-tier then this battle shouldn't be much of a mismatch, should it? It literally made me cringe seeing several people calling Luffy a serious top tier the other day. So I decided to make a post about it to see who else thought that way.So do you consider people like Jozu, Vista, and Marco Top tier, or are they all high tiers to you?
So in your mind there's no low Top tier? If so I agree, your either a Top tier or your not, and Luffy isn't.
And honestly OP, I have seen people downplay G4, I haven't seen anyone compare him to Akainu. I mean seriously the OP community seems to think Jozu can solo the M3 all on his own.
People even say unlimited G4 would get mid diff by the WB pirates Top 3 even though logically unlimited G4 is pretty much mastered G4. If G4 at its full potential can't beat or even match guys like Jozu then what can?

Maybe in your opinion. He's not pushing any Admiral or Yonkou to extreme diff on any day of the week. So as far as I'm concerned he's only a high-tier.That's just your definition of top tier. Marco is most definitely a top tier.

And yeah, I believe I've made it clear that it is my definition of Top Tier (as well as many others here). Notice the constant use of things like 'imo' and 'This is what I think'. I thought I made that clear enough.
Why would every fight need to be extreme diff for two fighters to be on the same tier? Not even sure if someone like Shanks fought Fujitora it'd have to be extreme diff.
I'm pretty sure it would be extreme diff, but okay. I'm not really sure why everyone seems to shortchange Fuji but that's not what we're discussing at the moment. Marco gets beaten with a comfortable high diff by any Admiral. Their life is not at all threatened when in any confrontation with him. That being said, he is not in their tier. If someone is significantly weaker than someone else and has not even a possibility of winning then they are not in the same tier. The fighters grouped together should be relatively even as in they can all defeat each other if they fought enough. If Marco fights an Admiral 10 times he'll lose 10 times.
Placing Luffy in the Top Tier would be comparing him to people like Akainu, Shanks, Dragon, Kuzan, etc when it's obvious that he'd get steamrolled by all of these people.
In my opinion anyways.
