Did Obito prove too much for Minato to handle? What is your opinion?

Obito was only 14 at the time yet many act like he would have Kage level skills. Sure he trained with Madara for months but he was a Chunin so his skills should be on Jounin level with his Kamui. Minato is strong enough to fight a Kage level (A) ninja and a above Kage level (Bee with 8 tails) ninja on more than 1 occasion. Minato wasn't even in SM yet he took down Obito and is the only one to figure out how Kamui works as fast as he did.

Actually, Minato dropped the ball here. He had a chance to kill Obito when he removed the contract. Double-tap much? Obito still doesn't know about the Rasen Hiraishin tech that he used to save Kakashi, and not enough chakra to use FTG even if he could copy it (it takes four Anbus to do it once). Minato had a huge advantage here, but wasn't thinking clearly. If Kakashi had kept his mouth shut (kidding); I Kakashi hadn't told Obito at the gravesite about Kushina going into labor, Minato would've faced Obito on altogether different terms. Just sayin'.
:hint:

Minato was on par with Obito. That moment when he teleported to his kunai to Rasengan Obito could have been prevented easily. Obito should have known that he would teleport.
Obito didn't want to take a Kunai to the face, not when it could knock off his mask, & he needed to pass through it touch Minato & initiate Kamui GG.

Obito couldn't react to Minato teleporting directly above him was all. Can you blame him? It happened instantly

define unrestricted?

Obito at that level was not experienced with kamui, it would have resulted in the same way.

Non plot restricted. Obito had the chance to defeat Minato in canon, but plot prevented it.

Without plot shielding, Minato would lose the first time Obito grabbed him.

lets just say Obito is lucky Minato had more important things to do

Let's just say, Minato is lucky Obito decided to gloat, instead of end the fight.

As Minato mentioned, their fight was a battle of speed. At that point in time, yes, Minato could've stopped Obito.

The way I view it is that if Minato would've attacked Obito head on with just his speed, he would've through him just like his Kunai and many others who tried that. The whole purpose of throwing the Kunai is so that he could get behind him the moment Obito turns off his Kamui phasing to make contact with Minato. Obito seemed to not have realized he FTGed behind him until he was hit from behind (or above).
