There were other options that Naruto could have done to strike and not kill Sasuke so u saying Naruto couldn't do anything else at that point comes off as bull :|

Naruto could have went for Sasuke's arm as they clashed or tried to go for a punch rather than continuing his stance for the rasengan. From the looks of it Sasuke simply evaded Naruto's hand and got to the chest before Naruto could react.

I can't answer weather or not sasuke dodged and Naruto was aiming and missed but i can definitely say that it wasn't a coincidence that it turned out this way. Sasuke said naruto wouldn't be able to scratch it and Naruto did. And also it was symbolic of Sasuke becoming a rogue ninja which he had essentially become.

Yea haha can't forget there's a bigger story the author is trying to tell. Having said that it's highly possible sasuke woulda dodged but this would be a way for Kishi to make it a win win situation. I think it's actually easier to tell when watching it in the Anime but I'm to lazy to look

because according to u Naruto instead of attacking decided to scratch Sasuke's headband knowing Sasuke was about to pierce his chest.

It's like saying u and another guy were punching at each other's face and u instead flick his chin. If ppl saw that then ppl would only think that u were never serious in the first place. Naruto however was serious and would probably do whatever he could to achieve victory.

So if someone starts seriously, but then displays an action that proves otherwise what else would one think other than that person gave up.

Then Naruto would have tried to find some other means of achieving victory. (Like punching him or grabbing Sasuke's arm)

He did try punching and grabbing his mission isn't easy. Sasuke said he couldn't put a scratch on his headband so of course knowing Naruto he wanted to shut him up and he did. In the end Naruto help clear his hatred and that path he was headed to. Unlike Hashirama Naruto succeeded.

I'm talking about the whole fight. Naruto did punch him and yes Naruto chose pride rather than killing him.
