[Discussion] Possible misconception Naruto v Sasuke.

^I have seen some fans state that Naruto was actually trying to go for Sasuke's headband here which seems kinda well dumb to me. This assumption would mean that Naruto gave up on beating Sasuke and instead chose to try and prove that he and Sasuke were equals.

I propose a different explanation

So when Naruto and Sasuke clashed it was chidori vs rasengan

Then the rasengan and chidori dispersed and the residual energy from the clash formed this orb

Now if you would go back to the original clash found in spoiler 1. notice where there hands are and then notice this scan

It seems as the rasengan and chidori dissipated that Naruto and Sasuke still charged at each other with the remaining chakra covering their hands. The only difference is that rather than to continue going straight like Naruto did, Sasuke has Sharingan and that allowed him to partially evade Naruto and aim for his chest just like he did when he fought Ay.

However since Sasuke wasn't able to dodge Naruto completely Naruto's hand ended up attacking Sasuke's headband causing the scratch and proving to Sasuke that Naruto and Sasuke were both Shinobi of equal standing.

Anyway this is my first time actually looking into this topic and it didn't seem plausible that Naruto would give up and choose a symbolic victory over a real one, even if he didn't mean to kill Sasuke.

Let me know what u guys think and if u have anything to add or that i might have missed then let me know

Then a punch would have done better. Even if Naruto didn't want to kill Sasuke that doesn't mean that he would just settle for a symbolic victory . That seems almost like he was admitting his defeat. Naruto could have tried to punch Sasuke, but instead he allowed Sasuke to slip past and hit his chest.

Harder or not, there is no possible way to break every bone in someone's body and they don't die.

They would die from internal bleeding or go into shock and die as an result. Thats Killing intent.

There are different ways to interpret it. I personally would interpret it as he had some sort of trust in Sasuke i.e. he would not kill his only friend.

There were other options that Naruto could have done to strike and not kill Sasuke so u saying Naruto couldn't do anything else at that point comes off as bull :|
