That was during the two year training period, not Part 1 so even if he could do it, he wouldn't know. Databook even states that her genjutsu ability rivals Itachi, hence why their genjutsu stand off finished as a stalemate.
None of your "argument" even accounts for my statement about skill. Oh and the Databook stats, which account
only for skills puts Kurenai at 29.5, leaving her somewhat ahead of Naruto in early Shippūden in that regard - never mind Kid Naruto. And even in early Shippūden, Naruto wasn't even close to being able to break out of a vastly weakened genjutsu of Itachi, so Part 1 Naruto wouldn't stand a chance against Kurenai's B-rank genjutsu at full strength.
