Its nothing new to us that that Kishimoto loves to throw some stereotypes on his work (for example, his first shown black character was a rapper whobused wrestling moves)...
What a lot o people do not realize is how the First Hokage Senju Hashirama is a caricature of Native americans.
Why? First of, lets start with his appearence:
Tall (1, 85m), with a chiseled face and tanned with long straight dark hair

His unique ability, the mokuton, is a reference of the "nature loving, tree hugging" mentality that a lot of people have about Native americans (plus the fact that his favorites phrases were "The vast lands fertile" and "Heaven's garments are without seams" that refer to perfect beauty without any artificial elements") as well as the bad stereotype that Native Americans are gamblers, shown as how Hashirama that taught Tsunade to gamble:

Because Naruto is the stereotypical American

Blonde hair, blue eyes, obnoxious, and wants to become president
Lol, no. If anything, Naruto would be germanic/nordic.

I've noticed the similarities before as well, I mean it's probably not intentional, but then again it could have been.
This. There are lots of similarities, but I don't think Kishi wanted him to be portraited as a native american.
