I thought the novels were canon. They have naruto and shikamaru's weddings in them.

How about instead of "thinking" you search up a valid source first?

The novels are not canon. So don't even bring those up.

Sakura's character was never leading to be a housewife, while in the end that is all she could become. She gets hated because Kishi has failed to develop her character properly through out the story. At this point in time she cannot be redeemed by being a mere good mother.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Sakura being a housewife, but I'm sure in the movie, it'll be confirmed that on top of that, she is also head medic or something along those lines....

There is no need for anyone to say its not canon when it should be automatically assumed its not canon unless confirmed by sources. And yes it is a big deal because Kishi adressed it in two different ocassions when the two movies came out. If it was not a big deal he would not say anything about it. If we go by your logic than we should assume every Naruto movie is canon and every filler in the anime is canon just because we feel that its canon. I am sorry but the manga world does not work that way. Because you are not the source it is Kishi or his workers.

You should not look at these statements like she sucks because she is a housewife. You should rather try to trace the origins. It started when people claimed that she runs a hospital and what not and started using that to defend herb in character debates. Since the novles are non canon, this feat is also non - canon and should not be used. But fans were still trying to use it as a feat, so the opposition went to the other end. I am sure nobody thinks being a housewife is wrong but it is about a feat being non canon and people's reaction to using that feat as canon.
