Well, He is the one that founded this academy and the only reason that this school has such endorsements. Lord Gilliam is the one who gave mages the ability of inter-dimensional traveling through the various spells that he has created. He even created quite a few. To this day though no one can use the magic as well as he does

As for miasma it functions kind of the same as magic producing it normally wouldn't do much as far as their physical condition, but over production could cause a loss of strength, stamina, and even the degrading of other abilities.

"Battle tactics are your responsibility i am only your science teacher, but if i were to give u any advice then i would tell you to be cautious. Make sure to have as little exposure as possible and attack outside the miasma's range....simply blowing it away works too as long as the miasma isn't too dense
