[Theory] Gear Fifth

Since there are 5 gears in a car and a reverse, I think Luffy will have two more gears, actually three more since newer cars have 6 gears nowadays. Anyways Gear Second lacked power, Gear Third lacked speed while Gear Fourth had both but in order for a Gear Fifth to happen Gear Fourth needs to have a weakness and I'm not talking about the drawback. I mean there needs to be something about Gear Fourth that Luffy can make up for with Gear Fifth. One other thing that is similar with all of them is the pumping, Gear Second pumps his blood, Gear Third pumps his bones and Gear Fourth pumps his muscles. Gear Fifth will have to pump something else.

It's never been stated but it makes sense if you think about it. Also Gear Fifth will obviously happen. Just like Luffy obtained Gear Second and Third, post timeskip will atleast have Gear Fourth and Fifth. It seems anticlimatic for his Gears to stop at 4 and not 5.

Just because he had 5 gears does not mean there will be a 5th, what was the last thing it talked about? DF awakening.. your logic if you have any is broken

I like both your theories the brain pumping would be cool. For those saying Awakening is next I think it will be something he develops separate from the Gears. Maybe he will use Gear Fifth brain pump to make strategies on how to use his awakening in the best way possible. Anyway I would like everyone in this thread and everyone reading this to come together. Let's use our heads and figure out what Gear Fourth lacks.

Luffy will learn from his fight with Doflamingo. Doffy is a tank. If it wasn't for the help he got, Doffy would have won the fight cuz of how much punishment he could take. If Luffy develops a fifth Gear, I see him using Life Return to conserve energy and increase his defense/endurance. Probably the opposite of Gear 2. Instead of increasing nutrient use to boost power, he slows it to conserve nutrients. He takes a beating, using his Haki to keep the injuries non-fatal. Then, when the enemy is tired out from exerting themselves, he uses the stored nutrients in Gear 2 or Gear 4 to return the punishment.

I think that will be Reverse Gear where he increase his defense and takes hits then returns everything with more power, kinda like Meliodas with Full Counter/Revenge Counter.

Giant Luffy wouldn't have the quantity blood necessary to circulate his giant size. Also Awakening is inevitable since the time it was introduced that Luffy will obtain it down the road.
