But seriously this was rather nice, this taught the kid a lesson, if this was some other guy who found out the kid might not be alive at this moment. He even showed interest to help him out and straighten his life up, I rather have this have happen than have the young ones locked up, jumped, shot up over gangs, drugs, etc.

Lemme give you my standpoint, Im 16, light skinned african American btw:

Initially I felt as if he has no authority to hit the kid, I would rather him turn him in to a police station because this isn't his son……

However once I listened and watched the video I learned that this isn't anywhere near his first time stealing because he was threatened by his mother to get sent away, that only happens after repeated disobedience in most homes. If I was that man, being completely honest, I woulda paid about 2 or 3 other boys his age, probably his own friends, to beat him. NOT kill or give significant injuries but to teach him something nonetheless. It shows that nobody likes thieves, not even your "friends"

That's my honest opinion, when he's stole before and hasn't learned give him a taste of reality.

Thank you! He isn't going to have a bruise, he isn't bleeding, he's not dying or anything.
Worst scenario his butt is sore for 5min.
They don't understand how that kids choices and lifestyle can lead him to his grave without this type of action.
Yes parents need to be better but sadly this world isn't perfect.

1-Decreasing the self-esteem of a child or in this case making them feel embarrassment is what I believe would a good punishment for such a act

2-I won't lie to you and say that "violence doesn't solve anything", it does actually, and it does it very well. However, the outcome of violence being used against a child, willl be nothing but...........violence ,and again the kid will try to act violent towards others as he/she did already learn the fact that violence actually solves things. And we as civilized community and as the greatest creatures upon this earth, don't need to restore to that lowly way, unless it''s necessary

1)This doesn't work for every child and you have to take into account their lifestyle. He's repeatedly stole items from other people before and would continue unless someone woke him up.
2)If he would to continue in his actions this could result in a fatal injury (getting jumped if caught), death (messing with the wrong guy that doesn't play around), or jail.
3)This I can agree with.
