I think he did, as it would be the only logical reason he met Hagoromo and got his Rinnegan. Naruto also got all the Bijuu's chakra, and that was the reason for meeting hence why Obito insisted Naruto getting them. If he didn't, he at least got his chakra.

Nope just didn't read. Anyway your version would mean that Hashirama cells wouldn't have even need to be mentioned at all. Juugo's cells work differently. My guess is that juugo's cells simply assimilate (take in the nature of ) with what they are put on rather than to simply remain as juugo's flesh while on someone else's body.

Hashirama cells work differently. His cells even when put into another body still retain their properties. :|
