He's not illterate. Thinking Amaterasu can effect NE Via sapping makes sense in a way. Sap means to weaken or destroy. But I don't think it actually destroyed it, Ama made the area inhabitable for the organic rocks to stay "alive"

But it isn't just the Amaterasu burning or "Sapping" NE. Kabuto made something non-living organic and alive. So it would make sense that direct intense heat in the area would force it to revert back to being un-organic and alive.

Lmao NE was never stated to be intangible, I was only humoring your logic by making it similar to air. FYI air is also consumed by fire so it makes since as to why it can effect it.

The heat alone caused Kabuto Muki tensei jutsu to become inactive. You are thinking of regular physical attacks which was not the case here.
