Kakashi with War Arc feats is faster than Itachi, has better reflexes, better taijutsu/CQC, more stamina and chakra. His ninjutsu is way better and he proved to be smarter and a better tactical fighter than even the skilled Uchiha is. The only thing where Itachi is better than Kakashi is genjutsu, and Kakashi can handle or avoid that. Kakashi casually wins with Kamui, that outspeeds Amatersu, makes useless Susanoo and has no trouble to be used even with possible Tsukuyomi on the play. Itachi suffers a lot everytime he uses the Mangekyo, Kakashi just has to make him fail once tricking him with a Kage Bunshin. Then Itachi will be widely open: Kakashi will blitz with Raikiri, Itachi will have to defend with Susanoo, Kakashi will use his Mangekyo then and Kamui GG will end everything quickly.

There is also Itachi's Genjutsu to consider a variable here. Kakashi easily fell victim to Tsukuyomi once before, and I'd doubt he has a counter to it now. Kakashi's best defense is kamui, and he would have to apply it quickly and efficiently all while avoiding both amaterasu and genjutsu traps. Not only is Tsukuyomi a variable in this fight, but so is Izanami

Kamui gg. Itachi has 0 knowledge on it. Where as kakashi has already seen everything itachi has to offer.

Kakashi currently has no knowledge of, or counter to the Uchiha's ultimate jutsu Izanagi and Izanami, each Itachi is very well capable of using. Kakashi's only hope would be to try and finish the battle quickly, but that case is impossible. It could never be a "quick battle" If Kakashi is set up against Itachi, unless Itachi negs him instantly with some genjutsu.

Actually upon close apon close examination it was all genjutsu. The fuma shuriken used to kill the clone is missing in the entirety of the next chapter. Had it been a real even it would be there like the standard shuriken.
