Let's think about this for a second:

You must be registered for see images


Neji and Rock Lee were rivals and Lee always desired to beat Neji.

Boruto:
You must be registered for see images


Son of Naruto and Hinata... cousin of NEJI and is a GENIUS

Rock Lee Son:
You must be registered for see images


Son of Rock Lee, who was a rival to Neji.

Is it possible that these 2 could be rivals at some point?

If you consider that 8th gate guy straight up destroyed madara, and then you consider that boruto has neither the byakugan, the nine tails or the sages chakra, the best he can really hope to be is hokage level/hashi level which guy more than surpassed. Guy should be the potential for any hardwork genius and assuming lees son is, then that is his theoretical cap. Lees son>boruto.

Guy never destroyed Madara. Guy never taught Lee how to open the 8th Gate. The new generation has no need to learn how to fight, therefore the demanding level will not be the same as previously seen. Lee had doubts if he could handle a Naruto Rasengan vs Obito. Boruto might do rasengans with his pinkie since he is 3 years old.

Boruto constantly spars against Naruto clones. He has god tier ancestors from his Mother and from his father, Lee son is fodder, he is so important we don't even know his name. :devil:

If you think about it Naruto wasn't an idiot. He was just to busy trying to get every ones attention that he didn't focus. But, when combat came he was always steps ahead of his opponent. Many of his opponents complimented him on is wits. So the idiot theory is far fetched. It showed from the very beginning, but really showed when he fought gaara, and attacked the base of his tail with a paper bomb.

Sad to say but, Boruto is just too much to be a rival. Daddy is a God Tier, Mommy has genes of a God Tier. Plus, i bet their family now has a contract with 9 Bijuu and thats it. I wouldnt be surprised if Boruto can tank 8 gates his daddy is like wolverine at all.

Sorry but i like Lee and Lee's Son too. theyre cute.

Madara was basically dead. And also opening the 8th gate is simply a matter of training. If guy showed lee how to do it he would be dead and in fact lee even got the chance to see him do it so yeah...

Lee was not at guys level yet when he said that. And lee is constantly training his son as seen in gaiden so... Plus like I said, naruto has many advantages boruto doesnt. lees son is at worst in the same position lee and guy were in regarding skill in ninjutsu/taijutsu. Boruto lacks the nine tails and is unlikely to ever get it. Like i said before, if you take away naruto 9 tails he iat hokage level, so thats brutos expected ability, 8th gate guy is lees expected ability and therefore lees son expected ability. 8th gate>hokage
