Naruto goes easy on Oro because Oro helped in the War and hasn't been up to anything evil since. Oro appears to have been pardoned for past crimes.

I'll admit, though, it felt very out of character for Naruto to appear so calm while hearing about Oro's human experiments... he barely even challenge Oro on it. Seemed like Kishi was just using his characters as mouthpieces for his own discussion. While that may be in character for Oro, it didn't fit with Naruto.

I see what you are saying here and kind of agree. Both Naruto and Sasuke seemed a bit too laxed about Orochimaru. But that could also be because he doesn't stand a chance against either of them without some ACE up his sleeve (which he may very well have)
